Tyketto
Tyketto is an American hard rock band, based out of New York City, New York, United States. The group was put together in 1987 by the former Waysted vocalist Danny Vaughn, with Brooke St. James (guitar), Jimi Kennedy ( bass), and Michael Clayton (drums). History The band saw their name painted on a wall in Brooklyn and thought it sounded cool. By 1989, the band had signed to Geffen Records and released their debut album ''Don't Come Easy'', which included the successful single "Forever Young." Musically, the album was somewhere between Whitesnake and Bon Jovi, and Tyketto opened for the former on many bills. However, the rise of the grunge sound in 1991 saw Tyketto's hopes of a big breakthrough begin to recede. Kennedy left the band and was replaced by Jaimie Scott. Danny Vaughn, born Daniel Himler on July 18th, 1961, is an American singer. Vaughn has performed with Waysted, Tyketto and Vaughn (band), Vaughn and now performs and releases under his own name. He was also a lead singer in the Ultimate Eagles. Danny Vaughn is a product of Steiner education, Steiner education. At lower school, he was placed into a choir. “My first public performance was singing Pie Jesu in soprano. I remember the audience craning their necks to see who the little kid who sang the solo was. My best-loved experience, during those days, was singing in harmony. It stayed with me ever since.” His schooling taught Vaughn to read and enjoy classical music, though his teenage years were filled with a love for the pop classics, especially Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel: anything that provided harmonizing, folk-rock, edged with the baroque. Steve Augeri
Steve Augeri (born January 30, 1959) is an American rock singer best known for his work as the lead singer of Journey from 1998 to 2006. He was also affiliated with Tall Stories and Tyketto. In 2014, he formed the band Ünderwörld. Personal life Steve Augeri, the son of Joseph and Emma Augeri, was born on January 30, 1959, and raised in the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn. He attributes his love and of music and inspiration to his father, Joseph, and their many years of listening to Sinatra, R&B, soul, and country music on their Emerson clock radio. Tall Stories is an American hard rock band made up of singer Steve Augeri, who also sang for Tyketto and Journey (band), Journey, guitarist Jack Morer, bass guitarist Kevin Totoian and drummer Tom DeFaria. The band formed in 1988 in New York City, New York, United States. Tall Stories released a self-titled album on August 27, 1991, on Epic Records, and reunited briefly after Augeri's departure from Journey (band), Journey in 2008. Tall Stories performed at Firefest V on October 26, 2008, in Nottingham, England. Christopher James Childs (born 24 June 1959) is an English bass player who is a member of the hard rock band Thunder since 1996. Born in the Essex village of Writtle, Chris Childs joined Thunder in November 1996, replacing Mikael Höglund, and has previously played with artists such as Paul Young, Andy Summers, Colin Blunstone, Then Jerico, Waterfront, Never The Bride and Go West. Waysted
Waysted were a British heavy metal band, formed by former UFO bassist Pete Way and the Scottish rocker Fin Muir (Ian Muir) in 1982. Recruiting Frank Noon (formerly with Def Leppard), Ronnie Kayfield and Paul Raymond, Waysted signed to Chrysalis Records and released ''Vices'' in 1983. The band has gone through multiple line up changes over the years, with members leaving, rejoining and leaving again, as well as periods of complete dormancy while Way pursued other projects. The band then split up in 1987, but then reformed in 2003. In 2008, Waysted were touring the UK in support of their new album ''The Harsh Reality''. CMC International
CMC International was an American independent record label founded by Bill Cain and Tom Lipsky in 1991, focused mainly on classic rock, and classic heavy metal. The label was the haven of many hard rock, arena rock, thrash metal, glam metal, and AOR artists in the period when all the majors were investing all their financial efforts on grunge and alternative rock acts. In 1995 CMC started a partnership with BMG Entertainment, which in 1999 owned the majority of the company, with founder Tom Lipsky holding a minority stake. CMC International became a division of Sanctuary Records Group in 2000, with Lipsky becoming president of Sanctuary Records North America. Music For Nations
Music For Nations (MFN) is a British independent record label focusing mainly on rock and metal. It was a subsidiary of the larger label distributor Zomba Records, which was a division of BMG and later Sony Music Entertainment. Launched in 1983 by Martin Hooker, Music For Nations established itself as a European leader in the rock and metal world, with early signings like Tank, Exciter, Metallica (who had three gold albums while on MFN), Slayer and Megadeth paving the way. As MFN grew, the company expanded its operation to include not just licensed acts from the United States, but its own signings. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other.
