Tycho Jæger
Tycho Christoffer Jæger (25 June 1819 – 31 January 1889) was a Norwegian painter. Biography Tycho Christoffer Jæger was born in Bergen as a son of the first cousins, shoemaker Tycho Christoffer Jæger and Øllegaard Jæger. He was an uncle of Henrik Jæger. From September 1870 he was married to Bergithe Steendahl (1850–1932). He painted between 1841 and 1889, almost exclusively landscapes. He studied partly in Copenhagen, in the 1840s. Leikanger () is a former municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It was located on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. The administrative center was the village of Hermansverk, which also was the administrative center of the old Sogn og Fjordane county. The Leikanger/Hermansverk urban area had 2,144 inhabitants (2019), about 90% of the municipal population. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. Henrik Jæger
Henrik Jæger (4 January 1854 – 17 December 1895) was a Norwegian literary historian, literary critic and playwright. He was born in Bergen as a son of sailmaker Herman Jæger (1824–1871) and Birgitte Pedersen. He was a nephew of Tycho Jæger. In June 1881 he married Marie Louise Holstad (1853–1931), and their daughter Dagmar Helene Jæger (1889–1979) married Olaf Gjerløw. He is known for his early monographs on Henrik Ibsen, and for writing the first large Norwegian literary history, ''Illustreret norsk Literaturhistorie'' (1896).
