Two Rivers is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. It lies between mile 13 (the Little Chena River) and mile 25 (the Chena River) on the Chena Hot Springs Road, northeast of Fairbanks, Alaska, Fairbanks. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP had a population of 719, up from 482 in 2000. Geography Two Rivers is located at (64.862366, -147.098884). Billy Two Rivers
Billy Two Rivers (Mohawk name ''Kaientaronkwen''), born May 5, 1935, is a Mohawk retired professional wrestler. He began wrestling professionally in 1953 and competed until 1977. During his career, he wrestled in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada. After retiring from wrestling, he became a leader of the Mohawk nation on the Kahnawake reservation. He played a major role in blockading the Honoré Mercier Bridge during the 1990 Oka Crisis. He has also appeared in several movies. Early life Two Rivers grew up in Kahnawake speaking Mohawk at home. He learned English in school, which was only available up to 8th grade. He caught the eye of Don Eagle, who became his guardian when Two Rivers was 16 so that he could go to Columbus, Ohio with Eagle to train as a wrestler. The Battle of Two Rivers was fought between the Picts and Northumbrians in the year 671. The exact battle site is unknown. It marked the end of the Pictish rebellion early in the reign of Ecgfrith, with a decisive victory for the Northumbrians. Two Rivers Ranch is a privately held cow/calf ranch business on 14,000 acres in Florida. The property crosses into Hillsborough County, Pasco County and Hernando County and is named for the two rivers converging on the property, the Hillsborough River and Blackwater Creek. The land includes pasture, planted pines and wetland habitats. History It was acquired in 1932 by Wayne Thomas as relatively barren land following clearcuts that occurred around the start of the 20th century. Two Rivers Press is an independent publishing house, based in the English town of Reading. Two Rivers Press was founded in 1994 by Peter Hay (1951–2003), a local artist. The Two Rivers Light (also known as the Two Rivers North Pierhead Light) is a lighthouse formerly located at the harbor entrance to Two Rivers, Wisconsin. It is now located in a museum in the city. History This light was preceded by a brick structure on shore, one and a half stories with a cupola. This light was erected in 1852 and lasted only until 1858. A project to improve the harbor was begun in 1870, including the construction in stages of a pair of breakwaters defining the entrance channel. The Two Rivers Dam is a dry dam in southeastern New Mexico, sixteen miles west-southwest of the city of Roswell. The dam is actually two dams separated by an area of higher land approximately 1.5 miles wide. Normally, no water is impounded behind the dams; they are strictly for flood control. However, during the spring runoff water will back up behind the northern dam. This has created a small oasis in the lowlands behind the dam. Both dams are earth-fill dams with coarse rubble on the faces to prevent erosion. The tops of both dams are 4058 feet above sea level.
