''Twice Upon a Time'' is a 1953 British comedy film directed by Emeric Pressburger and starring Hugh Williams, Elizabeth Allan, Yolande Larthe, and Charmian Larthe. It is based on the 1949 novel ''Lisa and Lottie'' by Erich Kästner.Goble p.252 It concerns twin sisters who are separated when their parents divorce. They meet again by accident when they are sent to the same summer camp, and they hatch a plan to reunite their parents. ''Lotte and Lisa'' had already been adapted into the films ''Two Times Lotte'' (1950) and ''Hibari no komoriuta'' (1951). ''Twice Upon a Time'' was the first English-language film adaptation; the story was later adapted as '' The Parent Trap'' (1961) and has been remade a number of times in English and many other languages. It was shot at Shepperton Studios with sets designed by the art director Arthur Lawson (designer). ''Twice Upon a Time'' is a 1983 American animated adventure fantasy comedy film co-directed by John Korty and Charles Swenson from a screenplay by Korty, Swenson, Suella Kennedy and Bill Couturié. The first animated film produced by George Lucas, it uses a form of cutout animation which the filmmakers called "Lumage", involving prefabricated cut-out plastic pieces that the animators moved on a light table. The film features improvised dialogue and a visual blend of live-action, traditional 2D-animation and stop motion. ''Twice Upon a Time'' is the seventh studio album by American country music artist Joe Diffie. It was released on April 22, 1997, through Epic Records. Singles released from the album include "This Is Your Brain", "Somethin' Like This", and "The Promised Land", which respectively reached #25, #40, and #61 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts. "The Promised Land" was also the second single of Diffie's career to miss Top 40 entirely, and this was also the first album of his career not to produce a Top 10 hit.
