Mordechai Tzipori
Mordechai Tzipori ( he, מרדכי צפורי, 15 September 1924 – 29 May 2017) was an Israeli politician who served as Minister of Communications from 1981 until 1984. Biography Born Mordechai Bankovich-Hendin in Petah Tikva during the Mandate period, Tzipori attended a religious school in his hometown. In 1939 he joined the Irgun, and in 1945 was arrested by the British authorities and exiled to Africa. He was interned in British detention camps in Eritrea, Kenya and Sudan, where he was involved in digging escape tunnels. He was sent back to Israel after its independence in 1948, and became a professional soldier, serving in the IDF from 1948 until 1976. He completed an officer's course in 1950, graduated from the IDF Command and Staff College in 1959, and studied at Tel Aviv University. Ya'akov Meridor
Ya'akov Meridor ( he, יעקב מרידור, born Yaakov Viniarsky on 29 September 1913, died 30 June 1995) was an Israeli politician, Irgun commander and businessman. Biography Yaakov Viniarsky (later Meridor) was born in the Polish town of Lipno to a Jewish family of middle-class merchants. In 1930, after hearing reports of the first Arab rebellion in Mandatory Palestine, he became a member of the Betar Movement. He studied law at the University of Warsaw. Meridor died in 1995 at the age of 81, and was survived by his three children. He and his wife Ziporah are buried in the Nahalat Yitzhak Cemetery in Givatayim. Moshe Arens
Moshe Arens (27 December 1925 – 7 January 2019) was an Israeli aeronautical engineer, researcher, diplomat and Likud politician. A member of the Knesset between 1973 and 1992 and again from 1999 until 2003, he served as Minister of Defense three times and once as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
