Turkey–ISIL Conflict
The IS-related terrorist attacks in Turkey refers to a series of attacks and clashes between Turkey and the Islamic State (IS) as part of the spillover of the Syrian Civil War. Turkey joined the international military intervention against the Islamic State in 2016, after ISIL attacks in Turkey. The Turkish Armed Forces' Operation Euphrates Shield was partly aimed at IS, and part of the Turkish occupation of northern Syria, around Jarabulus and al-Bab, was conquered from IS. Etymology Turkey like some other countries, such as France and the UK uses the name DAESH or DAIS, which is the group's Arabic acronym for ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant). Military Activity Of The Islamic State
The military of the Islamic State is the fighting force of the Islamic State (IS). The total force size at its peak was estimated from tens of thousands to over two hundred thousand. ISIL's armed forces grew quickly during its territorial expansion in 2014. The ISIL military, including groups incorporated into it in 2014, openly operates and controls territory in multiple cities in Libya and Nigeria. In October 2016, it conquered the city of Qandala in Puntland, Somalia. It conquered much of eastern Syria and western Iraq in 2014, territory it lost finally only in 2019. It also has had border clashes with and made incursions into Lebanon, Iran, and Jordan. ISIL-linked groups operate in Algeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, and in West Africa (Cameroon, Niger, and Chad). Abu Al-Hasan Al-Hashimi Al-Qurashi
Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi ( ar, أبو الحسن الهاشمي القرشي, Abū al-Ḥasan al-Hāshimī al-Qurashī), born Nour Karim al-Mutni (; died 15 October 2022), was an Iraqi terrorist and the third caliph of the Islamic State. He was named as caliph on 10 March 2022, in an audio message by the new spokesperson of IS, Abu Omar al-Muhajir, whose announcement came more than a month after the death of his predecessor Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi. The message said that Abu al-Hassan was given a pledge of allegiance in response to the will of the former caliph. The Turkish government claimed that he was arrested in Istanbul on 26 May 2022. Anas al-Abdah (born 1967) is a Syrian politician who served as President of the Syrian Interim Government from 2019 to 2021. Early life Anas al-Abdah was born in a suburb of Damascus. Zekai Aksakallı
Lieutenant-General Zekai Aksakallı (born 25 December 1961) is a Turkish Special Forces Command commander. He graduated from the Turkish Military Academy.
