Turið Sigurðardóttir
Turið Sigurðardóttir (born 12 August 1946) is a Faroese educator, writer and translator, specializing in the history of Faroese literature. She lives in Tórshavn and teaches at the University of the Faroe Islands. Biography Born in Copenhagen, Sigurðardóttir is the daughter of Sigrið av Skarði, a feminist journalist and academic, and of Sigurð Joensen, a lawyer who campaigned for the independence of the Faroe Islands. She graduated in Icelandic language and literature at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik and has a master's degree in literature from Copenhagen University. At the University of the Faroe Islands, she taught literature and translation and conducted research into the history of Faroese literature, including children's literature and poetry. Tubrid
Tubrid or Tubbrid ( Irish: ''Tiobraid'') was formerly a civil and ecclesiastical parish situated between the towns of Cahir and Clogheen in County Tipperary, Ireland. A cluster of architectural remains at the old settlement still known as Tubrid includes an ancient cemetery and two ruined churches of regional historical significance. Location Tubrid is located about from the village of Ballylooby, adjacent to an old stone bridge near Burgess. In 1841, the mail-road between Cork and Dublin via Cahir still passed through the village. The Turkish Restaurant & Entertainment Association (''Turizm Restaurant Yatırımcıları ve İşletmecileri Derneği'', or TURYID) is the national restaurant association for the wider restaurant industry in Turkey. Turid Dørumsgaard Varsi (born 3 June 1938 in Tinn) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Telemark in 1977, but was not re-elected in 1981. Turid Smedsgård is a Norwegian former handball goalkeeper. She played 113 matches for the Norway women's national handball team from 1978 onwards. Turid Balke (25 July 1921 – 5 January 2000) was a Norwegian actress, playwright and artist. Biography Born in Kirkenes, she started her professional career at Trøndelag Teater in 1949. She would spend many of her years as an actress at Folketeatret and the famous Norwegian revue-stage Chat Noir. She was also an artist and a designer, even designing "proper" toys for children, but more importantly she would become one of the pioneers in Norwegian children's theatre. She wrote and staged several plays for children and is also remembered for creating ''Balkeby'' (Balke-town), a miniature-town with puppets and their stories performed by Balke. Turid Rugaas is a Norwegian dog trainer. Rugaas got her first dog in 1948 and has been training since 1969. She set up her dog school Hagan Hundeskole in 1984 on her farm on overlooking the fjords of Norway. She started educating other dog trainers and giving seminars 1992. Since then conducted workshops in 12 different countries with students from 24 countries. She is now retired from actual dog training, but continues to conduct seminars and workshops internationally.
