Turid Kjellmann Pedersen
Turid Kjellmann Pedersen (26 September 1937 – 16 August 2012) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She was born in Talvik as a daughter of two smallholders. She finished secondary education, and after various jobs she worked at an antiquity shop in Oslo from 1958 to 1970. After an intermezzo as a housewife and smallholder from 1970 to 1985, she worked in tourism until retiring in 1998. She was a member of Finnmark county council from 1975 to 1987, serving as deputy county mayor from 1986 to 1987. From 2003 to 2007 she was a deputy member of Alta municipal council from 2003 to 2007. She was a national board member of the Labour Party from 1973 to 1978 and 1982 to 1987. She served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Finnmark during the term 1981–1985 and 1985–1989. The Labour Party ( nb, Arbeiderpartiet; nn, Arbeidarpartiet; A/Ap; se, Bargiidbellodat), formerly The Norwegian Labour Party ( no, Det norske Arbeiderparti, DNA), is a social-democratic political party in Norway. It is positioned on the centre-left of the political spectrum, and is led by Jonas Gahr Støre. It was the senior partner of the governing red–green coalition from 2005 to 2013, and its former leader Jens Stoltenberg served as the prime minister of Norway. The Labour Party is officially committed to social-democratic ideals. Its slogan since the 1930s has been "everyone shall take part" and the party traditionally seeks a strong welfare state, funded through taxes and duties. Statskog
Statskog is a Norwegian state-owned enterprise responsible for the management of state-owned forest and mountain real estate totaling approximately 20% of the area of Norway. About 5% of Statskog's land is productive forest while 80% is above the tree line. The company has its headquarters in Namsos. In southern Norway the operations of productive forestry is conducted by Statskog-Borregaard Skogsdrift AS, a joint venture between Statskog and Borregaard. Across the country Statskog also manages hunting licences and allows for travel and tourism in nature. History Statskog was established in 1860 as Statens skovvæsen and was organized under the Ministry of the Interior. Finnmark (; se, Finnmárku ; fkv, Finmarku; fi, Ruija ; russian: Финнмарк) was a county in the northern part of Norway, and it is scheduled to become a county again in 2024. On 1 January 2020, Finnmark was merged with the neighbouring county of Troms to form the new Troms og Finnmark county. On 1 January 2024, the county will be demerged back to the counties Finnmark and Troms, after a decision made by parliament on 15 June 2022. Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani
Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani (SNSK), or simply Store Norske, is a Norwegian coal mining company based on the Svalbard archipelago. It was formed in 1916, after a Norwegian purchase of the American Arctic Coal Company (ACC). The company has 360 employees and operated two coal mines. The larger one was located in the Sveagruva settlement, about 60 km south of Longyearbyen. The Svea Nord longwall mine has an annual output of 2 million tonnes of bituminous coal. A third of it is sold for metallurgical purposes. The managing director of Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani was Per Andersson. The Sveagruva mine closed in 2017. The Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani has a shipping port at Cape Amsterdam, 15 km from Sveagruva.
