The Open Mediterrania was a golf tournament on the European Tour, which was played at several different venues in Spain and France from 1990 to 1995. It had four different names in six years. Anders Forsbrand
Anders Gunnar Vilhelm Forsbrand (born 1 April 1961) is a Swedish professional golfer who formerly competed on the European Tour. Early life Forsbrand was born in Filipstad, Sweden. He began playing golf at Uddeholm Golf Club, a small club with a 9-hole course in Värmland, Sweden. He later came to represent nearby and bigger Karlstad Golf Club, with an 18-hole course and better practice facilities. His younger brother Vilhelm, born 1970, also became a professional golfer and came to win twice on the Challenge Tour. Forsbrand won the unofficial 1977 Swedish Youth Championship, Colgate Cup, at his age level (16 years old). The 1990 European Tour, titled as the 1990 Volvo Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 19th official season of golf tournaments known as the PGA European Tour. The season was made up of 37 tournaments counting for the Order of Merit, and seven non-counting "Approved Special Events". Michael McLean (golfer)
Michael McLean (born 6 March 1963) is an English professional golfer. McLean was born in Farnborough, Kent. He turned professional in 1981 and played on the European Tour through most of the 1980s and 1990s. José Rivero
José Rivero (born 20 September 1955) is a Spanish professional golfer. Career He started his golf career as a caddie and turned professional in 1973. He was a full member of the European Tour from 1983 to 2001 and he won four European Tour events. He made the top fifteen on the Order of Merit five times, including a best of tenth in 1988. Rivero was a member of the first two winning European Ryder Cup teams after the inclusion of Continental European players, at The Belfry in 1985 and Muirfield Village in 1987. He represented Spain in the Alfred Dunhill Cup and the World Cup on many occasions, winning the latter in 1984 in partnership with José María Cañizares. Rivero became eligible for senior golf in September 2005. He played four events on the European Senior Tour that year and placed in the top six in each of them. David Feherty
David William Feherty (born 13 August 1958) is a former professional golfer and current golf broadcaster. As a touring professional he won five European Tour events, competed at the Open Championship twice ( 1989 and 1994), and played on Europe's 1991 Ryder Cup team. Late in his career he joined the PGA Tour. Since retiring, he has worked as a television personality; from 1997 through 2015 Feherty served as an on-course reporter for the ''PGA Tour on CBS''. In 2011, he introduced a self-titled interview series on Golf Channel and subsequently joined NBC Sports full-time in 2016. In July 2022, it was announced that Feherty would depart NBC and become an analyst for LIV Golf. Gordon Brand Jnr
Gordon Brand Jnr (19 August 1958 – 31 July 2019) was a Scottish professional golfer. He played on the European Tour, winning eight times, and later the European Senior Tour, winning twice. He played in the 1979 Walker Cup and played twice in the Ryder Cup, in 1987 and 1989. Early life and amateur career Brand was born in Kirkcaldy. His father, Gordon Brand Snr, was the club professional at Knowle Golf Club in Bristol from 1969 to 2001. Brand had a successful amateur career and played for Great Britain and Ireland in the 1979 Walker Cup and in the Eisenhower Trophy in 1978 and 1980. Frank Nobilo
Frank Ivan Joseph Nobilo (born on 14 May 1960) is a professional golfer from New Zealand. Nobilo had a successful playing career, winning 14 pro tournaments around the world. He was at his peak during the mid-1990s when he also produced strong finishes in all four major championships. Since his 2003 retirement, Nobilo has worked as a television announcer for golf events. Personal life Nobilo was born in Auckland, of Italian and Croatian descent, and is the great grandson of an Italian pirate.
