''Tulus'' is the debut studio album by Indonesian recording artist Tulus. The album was produced by Ari Renaldi and released by Tulus Record in September 2011. It also launched by Demajors. The album contains 10 songs, including "Merdu Untukmu", "Diorama", and "Sewindu". Tulus wrote most of the songs, like "Sewindu", "Teman Hidup", "Kisah Sebentar", "Tuan Nona kesepian" and "Jatuh Cinta" which dominated the charts on radio stations across Indonesia. Muhammad Tulus or better known by his mononym Tulus (born August 20, 1987) is an Indonesian singer of Minangkabau descent. Early life Tulus was born in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Career Albums His debut album, '' Tulus'', was released in 2011. ''Rolling Stone Indonesia'' put this album on the top chart of Indonesia's Best Album and awarded for Tulus as Rookie of The Year in 2013. His second album, ''Gajah'', was released in 2013. 88,000 copies were produced and distributed since then, one of the largest CD productions in Indonesia (2014–2015). It was the only music album in the Indonesian language that was listed in The Top 10 Best Selling Music Album in iTunes Asia, two months in a row after it was released. Ari Renaldi
Ari Renaldi is an Indonesian music producer, composer, arranger, sound and mixing engineer, music director and musician. His production credits include Mocca, Tulus, Vidi Aldiano, Raisa Andriana, Afgan, Yura Yunita, Sezairi Sezali, Maudy Ayunda, Rossa, Ungu, Juicy Luicy, Yovie & Nuno amongst many others. During college years, Renaldi started his career as session drummer for Project Pop, Glenn Fredly, Rio Febrian, R42 and many others. He is currently the drummer for 4Peniti, a jazz band based in Bandung and was formed in 2002 with Rudy Zulkarnaen (simakDialog), Ammy Kurniawan and Zaki 'Peniti'. Renaldi is a member of 2010 and 2012 Mix With The Masters series. Beside record producing, Renaldi have done music directing for concerts and live performances as well. ''Gajah'' (''Elephant'') is the second studio album by Indonesian singer-songwriter Tulus. The album was released on February 19, 2014, by Demajors. The album occupied the eighth position in iTunes Indonesia in July. A few months after release, the single "Gajah" entered the charts in Indonesia. "Sepatu" had re-released single for Japanese' version "Kutsu" (セパトゥ〜くつ〜) and lyrically had translated by Hiroaki Kato, a Japanese artist.
