Tuluhan Tekelioğlu
Tuluhan Tekelioğlu (born 5 March 1970) is a Turkish writer, documentary filmmaker and former journalist, television anchorwoman, and talk show host. Early life Tuluhan Tekelioğlu was born in Tours, France, on 5 March 1970, while her father Yavuz Tekelioğlu was conducting his doctoral study at University of Montpellier 1. She was born into a family of modern women with a sense of social responsibility. Her maternal grandmother was a co-founder of the "Association of Progressive Women" ( tr, İlerici Kadınlar Derneği). Her aunt was jailed for two years in the Mamak Military Prison, Ankara, in 1984 after the 1980 military coup because she defended the human rights for women. Her father is a retired professor at Akdeniz University, and specialist for geographical indication. Her brother Balkan, born in 1978, lives and works in France. Cine5 was the first subscription-based television channel in Turkey. It aired in an encrypted format and primarily broadcast feature-length movies when it was founded on September 20, 1993. Subscribers were required to buy a decoder to watch the channel. The number of subscribers reached over half a million. However, in recent years, it enlarged its program spectrum due to competition from other movie-based channels and removed encryption and the subscription policy on January 16, 2006. The Bosporus Strait (; grc, Βόσπορος ; tr, İstanbul Boğazı 'Istanbul strait', colloquially ''Boğaz'') or Bosphorus Strait is a natural strait and an internationally significant waterway located in Istanbul in northwestern Turkey. Viranşehir ( ku, Wêranşar) is a market town serving a cotton-growing area of Şanlıurfa Province, in southeastern Turkey, 93 km east of the city Şanlıurfa and 53 km north-west of Ceylanpınar at the Syrian border. Kanal D, also known as Channel D, is a nationwide television channel in Turkey and part of Demirören Group. It was founded by Ayhan Şahenk and Aydın Doğan in 1993. The network also runs an international channel, Euro D which is available online, and had the first high definition channel in Turkey, Kanal D HD. The text 'KANAL D' is not displayed in its Turkish broadcast.
