Tuirihiau Falls
The Tuirihiau Falls is located south of Thenzawl in Serchhip district in the Indian state of Mizoram. The falls Tuirihiau Falls Khawhthla or Tuirihiau Falls is the most spectacular of all the waterfalls and cascades in the fast flowing rivers of Mizoram. It is located in Vanva river near Buangpui. The uniqueness of this waterfall is that there are caves behind the waterfalls and you see the falls from behind. Serchhip District
Serchhip District is one of the eleven districts of Mizoram state in India. The district occupies an area of 1421.60 km². Serchhip town is the administrative headquarters of the district. This district came into existence on 15 September 1998, being carved out of the larger Aizawl District. Because of the way it was created it includes part of East Lungdar Tehsil and part of Thingsulthliah Tehsil. As of 2011 census, it has the highest literacy rate in India, and is the second least populous district of Mizoram (out of 8), after Saiha. Geography The district is bounded on the north and northwest by Aizawl District, on the west and south by Lunglei District, on the southeast by Myanmar (Burma), and on the east by Champhai District. Mizoram
Mizoram () is a state in Northeast India, with Aizawl as its seat of government and capital city. The name of the state is derived from "Mizo people, Mizo", the endonym, self-described name of the native inhabitants, and "Ram", which in the Mizo language means "land." Thenzawl
Thenzawl is a census town in Serchhip district in the Indian state of Mizoram. It is an important center for the traditional Mizo handloom industry. Thenzawl is 90 km (56 miles) from Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram. History Thenzawl was a dense forest with many wild animals until it was cultivated in 1961 and inhabited. Bengkhuaia Sailo established a village in 1863 in Thenzawl. Kamlova's son, Lalngurchhina was the last chief of Thenzawl. Mizoram is a state in the northeast of India. Mizoram is considered by many as a beautiful place due to its dramatic landscape and pleasant climate. There have been many attempts to increase revenue through tourism but many potential tourists find the lack of amenities to be a hurdle. However, the State continues to promote itself and many projects have been initiated. The tourism ministry continues to maintain or upgrade its tourist lodges throughout the state. Foreign tourists are required to obtain an 'inner line permit' under the special permit before visiting.
