Tuira, Oulu
Tuira is a district of the city of Oulu, Finland. It is located north of city centre across the Oulujoki River. After the first bridges over Oulujoki connecting Tuira with Oulu were built in 1869, population growth of Tuira accelerated and Tuira was annexed by city of Oulu from the neighbouring rural municipality in 1886. Until the 1970s Tuira was a neighbourhood of wooden townhouses, but the new zoning plan of 1969 changed it to a suburb of residential tower blocks. Merikoskenkatu, a street dividing the line of East and West Tuira, is a major public bus route. The railway station in Tuira was opened in 1903, but the passenger traffic was ended in 1990 and freight traffic in 2002. The station building was dismantled in 1998. Oulu
Oulu ( , ; sv, Uleåborg ) is a city, municipality and a seaside resort of about 210,000 inhabitants in the region of North Ostrobothnia, Finland. Postal Codes In Finland
Finland has used five-digit numeric postal codes since the 1970s. The first and second digits designate the general area of the municipality of the address, while the last three designate a smaller region within that larger area. The numeric postal code is usually accompanied by a written name for the smaller region. Maalaiskunta
Maalaiskunta (Finnish), landskommun (Swedish), "rural municipality", abbreviated ''mlk'' was one of the four types of municipality in Finland in 1865–1976. Other types in 1865–1959 were city (in Finnish ''kaupunki'') and market town (in Finnish ''kauppala''), in 1960–1976 old city (in Finnish ''vanha kaupunki''), new city (in Finnish ''uusi kaupunki'') and market town. Tuira Church
The Tuira Church ( fi, Tuiran kirkko) is an evangelical Lutheran church in Tuira, Oulu Oulu ( , ; sv, Uleåborg ) is a city, municipality and a seaside resort of about 210,000 inhabitants in the region of North Ostrobothnia, Finland. It is the most populous city in northern Finland and the fifth most populous in the country after: .... The church building has been designed by architect Harald Andersin and it was inaugurated as a chapel of Oulu parish in 1916. The parish of Oulu was divided into smaller parishes in 1966 and the chapel in Tuira was inaugurated as a church. At the time the first extension of the church was started according to plans of architect Mikko Huhtela. The current form is from 1992 when the second extension of the building was completed.
