Tuborg Havn
Tuborg Havn or Port of Tuborg is a marina and surrounding mixed-use neighbourhood in the Hellerup district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Located on a peninsula on the north side of Svanemølle Bay, just north of the border to Copenhagen Municipality, it is the result of a redevelopment of the former industrial site of Tuborg Breweries which ceased operations in 1996. The marina is operated by the Royal Danish Yacht Club which also has their club house at the site. Other local landmarks include the Experimentarium science centre, the Waterfront shopping centre and the Saxo Bank headquarters. The port is located a 15 minutes walk from the S-trains stations Svanemøllen (south) or Hellerup (north). History The harbor was constructed between 1869 and 1873 at the initiative of H.P. Gentofte Municipality
Gentofte Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark (''Region Hovedstaden'') on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. It covers an area of , and has a total population of 74,548 (1 April 2014). Since 17 May 2021, its mayor has been Michael Fenger, a member of the Conservative People's Party (''Det Konservative Folkeparti''). Tuborg Bottle
The Tuborg Bottle (Danish: Tuborgflasken) is a 26 metres tall landmark shaped as a Tuborg bottle located close to Tuborg's former brewery site, now Tuborg Havn, Hellerup, in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. History The Tuborg Bottle was originally constructed as Tuborg Breweries' contribution to the Nordic Exhibition of 1888 in Copenhagen and it was then located where Copenhagen City Hall stands today. Tuborg was the first Danish brewery to market bottled beer as an alternative to the traditional beer barrels. The structure was designed by the architect Viggo Klein and executed by the theatrical painter Carl Lund. Denmark's first mechanical lift transported visitors up to the observation platform. Sven Risom
Sven Julius Risom (Copenhagen, 3 November 1880 — Hillerød, 24 March 1971) was a Danish architect who worked mainly in the style of Nordic Classicism. Biography Sven Risom was born in Copenhagen on 3 November 1880, the son of Johan Maria Risom (d. 1915) and Thalia Rothe (d. 1918). His father was a doctor at the Royal Danish Theatre. Risom began his studies in Birkerød in 1899, becoming a journeyman carpenter in 1902. After time at the Technical University of Denmark (during which he studied under Gustav Vermehren and Emil Blichfeldt), he later attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with a degree in architecture in 1909. In the meantime, Risom had been employed in a number of architectural projects. From 1905 to 1906, he was employed by Hermann Baagøe Storck as co-supervisor (along with Andreas Clemmensen and Ulrik Plesner) of the restoration of St. Bendt's Church in Ringsted. Anton Rosen
Anton Rosen (13 September 1859 – 2 July 1928) was a Danish architect, furniture designer, decorative artist and professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In his architecture, he combined a free Historicist style with inspiration from contemporary English architecture and details influenced by Jugendstil. Biography Anton Rosen was born at Horsens in Jutland, Denmark. He was the son of Carl Julius Rose, master mason at the Royal Danish Theatre. Tuborg is a Danish brewing company founded in 1873 on a harbour in Hellerup, an area North of Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 1970 it has been part of the Carlsberg Group. The brewery's flagship, the Tuborg pilsner, was brewed for the first time in 1880. Travemünde () is a borough of Lübeck, Germany, located at the mouth of the river Trave in Bay of Lübeck, Lübeck Bay. It began life as a fortress built by Henry the Lion, Duke of Saxony, in the 12th century to guard the mouth of the Trave, and the Denmark, Danes subsequently strengthened it.
