''Tubelight'' is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language war drama film written and directed by Kabir Khan. Produced by Salman Khan and Kabir Khan, it is set in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. It stars Salman Khan and Sohail Khan in the main roles, with Zhu Zhu (in her Bollywood film debut), Matin Rey Tangu, Om Puri and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in supporting roles. Kabir Khan is an Indian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer who works in Hindi cinema. He started his career working in documentary films, and then made his feature film directorial debut in 2006 with ''Kabul Express''. He is best known for directing ''Ek Tha Tiger'' (2012) and ''Bajrangi Bhaijaan'' (2015). His latest film '' 83'' was released in (2021). Early life and background Khan was born to Rasheeduddin Khan, a Muslim Urdu Speaking father and Leela Narayan Rao, a Hindu Telugu-speaking mother. Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30 January 1948 at age 78 in the compound of Birla House (now Gandhi Smriti), a large mansion in central New Delhi. His assassin was Nathuram Vinayak Godse, a Chitpavan Brahmin from Pune, Maharashtra, a Hindu nationalist, a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindu paramilitary organization as well as a member of the Hindu Mahasabha. Godse considered Gandhi to have been too accommodating to Pakistan during the Partition of India of the previous year. The Sino-Indian War took place between China and India from October to November 1962, as a major flare-up of the Sino-Indian border dispute.
