Três Figueiras (meaning ''Three ficus, Fig Trees'' in Portuguese language, Portuguese) is a neighbourhood of the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. A residential neighbourhood, it embrace people from upper middle class to upper class, having many sophisticated houses. Três Figueiras was created by Law 2022 of December 7, 1959. There is located the Design School of Unisinos. Also, there has two highly regarded and traditional private schools, the Colégio Farroupilha, Farroupilha and Anchieta College (Porto Alegre), Anchieta schools, and a highly regarded private school for childhood, the Baby House, Porto Alegre, Baby House. ''Ficus'' ( or ) is a genus of about 850 species of woody trees, shrubs, vines, epiphytes and hemiepiphytes in the family Moraceae. Colégio Farroupilha (Farroupilha Elementary, Middle and High School in English) is one of the most traditional private schools in Porto Alegre and in Brazil. It has ranked at the top 1% of schools in Brazil for as long as the ENEM (National High School Exam) ranking has existed. History The Colégio Farroupilha was founded in 1886 by the Deutscher Hilfsverein, a beneficent association created to help the German-Brazilian immigrants and their descendants.
