Trying Again (TV Series)
''Trying Again'' is a British comedy television series shown on the Sky Living channel in 2014. On 17 October 2014, the channel announced that the show will not be returning for a second series. Plot The show revolves around a couple, Meg and Matt, who are working to have their relationship recover following Meg's affair with her boss. Six months after the affair, the couple are struggling to get their love life back on track. Highlighting friendships and love and all the problems those things bring, Trying Again focusses on a relationship between people who make mistakes but live in the hope that love will conquer all. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. Alun Cochrane
Alun Cochrane (born 8 February 1975) is a Scottish comedian. He was born in Glasgow and raised in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Career Stand-up comedy In 2004 Cochrane's first Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, ''My Favourite Words in My Best Stories'', was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the Perrier Awards. He went on to be nominated for "Best Compère" and "Best Breakthrough Act" at the 2005 Chortle Awards. He returned to the Edinburgh Fringe during the same year with a new solo show.
