Trygve Madsen
Trygve Madsen (born 15 February 1940) is a Norwegian composer and pianist. Early life and education Born in Fredrikstad, Madsen demonstrated musical ability at an early age when he began to learn to play the piano at age six and first started composing aged seven. Madsen went on to study under Egil Hovland and Erik Werba, and developed an interest in everything from the Russian masters Prokofiev and Shostakovich to the works of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Richard Strauss, and Ravel. Madsen's personal interest in playing jazz piano and the influence that pianists such as Art Tatum, Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson had on him can be heard in his use of the piano. Career Trygve Madsen has proven himself to be a prolific worker and particularly one of the most productive published by Musikk-Husets Forlag – in 2009, the company had 125 works by Madsen in their catalogue. Sveinung Bjelland
Sveinung Bjelland (born 1970) is a Norwegian classical pianist who made an international career as a soloist and Lieder accompanist. He is also an academic teacher. Career Born in Stavanger, Bjelland studied piano with Hans Leygraf at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, where he completed his studies with distinction. In 1999, he was called "Young Soloist of the Year" by the Concerts Norway. Bjelland has collaborated with notable orchestras and conductors. He accompanied the Norwegian singer in several Lieder recordings. His recording of piano sonatas by Mendelssohn and Scarlatti was nominated for the award Spellemannprisen. In 2005, a CD was released with music for clarinet and piano, played by clarinetist Fredrik Fors and him, including Poulenc's Clarinet Sonata, Martinu's Clarinet Sonatina and music by Busoni, Debussy and Alban Berg. Roger Jean Boutry (27 February 1932 – 7 September 2019) was a French composer and conductor. Biography Born in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, he resided in Paris.
