Trunojoyo University (Unijoyo) is a public university in the Bangkalan Regency (on Madura island), in East Java province, Indonesia. Unijoyo was redesignated as a public university under the Presidential Decree dated July 5, 2001. The college was inaugurated on 23 July 2001 by President Abdurrahman Wahid. Bangkalan
Bangkalan is a town on the western coast of Madura Island in Indonesia, the government seat of the Bangkalan Regency. Tourism Mount Jaddih is 10 kilometres from Bangkalan and can be accessed by a motorcycle to the mountain top to see Bangkalan town and Suramadu Bridge. The 500-hectare limestone hill of Mount Jaddih also offers a spring-water swimming pool for free. Bangkalan Regency
Bangkalan Regency is a regency ( id, kabupaten) of East Java province in Indonesia. The seat of its government is Bangkalan. The regency is located on the west side of Madura Island, bordering with Sampang Regency to the east, Java Sea to the north and Madura Strait to the west and the south sides. It covers an area of 1,260.14 km2, and had a population of 906,761 at the 2010 census (an increase from 805,048 at the previous census in 2000) and reached 1,060,377 at the 2020 census. In 2009, the Suramadu Bridge was completed, being the first (toll) bridge ever to connect Java and Madura islands. The Suramadu Bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia. Madura Island is an Indonesian island off the northeastern coast of Java. Abdurrahman Wahid
Abdurrahman Wahid ( ; born Abdurrahman ad-Dakhil; 7 September 1940 – 30 December 2009), though more colloquially known as Gus Dur (), was an Indonesian politician and Islamic religious leader who served as the 4th president of Indonesia, from his election in 1999 until his removal from power in 2001. A long time leader within the Nahdlatul Ulama organization, he was the founder of the National Awakening Party (PKB). He was the son of Minister of Religious Affairs Wahid Hasyim, and the grandson of Nahdatul Ulama founder Hasyim Asy'ari. He had a visual impairment caused by glaucoma. He was blind on the left eye and partially blind on his right eye. He was the first and as of 2022 the only president of Indonesia to have had physical disabilities.
