True Trans
''True Trans'' is an acoustic EP by American punk rock band Against Me!. The band released it as a digital single on July 12, 2013 through their label, Total Treble Music. The two songs on the EP were made available via an email download link to those who preordered tickets for Laura Jane Grace's August 2013 tour of the U.S. East Coast. It was later distributed as a 7". The EP was released for free, for a limited time, on Against Me!'s website on July 15, 2013. Background The EP features acoustic versions of two songs from the band's sixth studio album, ''Transgender Dysphoria Blues'', which was released in early 2014. The song "True Trans Soul Rebel" has been played at live shows since May 30, 2012. Against Me!
Against Me! is an American punk rock band formed in 1997 in Naples, Florida, by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace. That same year, Grace moved to Gainesville, Florida, which is considered the band's hometown. Since 2001, the band's lineup has also included guitarist James Bowman. After releasing three studio albums through independent record labels, Against Me! moved to Sire Records for 2007's '' New Wave'', which reached no. 57 on the ''Billboard'' 200. In 2011, the band launched the record label Total Treble. In 2012, Grace publicly came out as a transgender woman. Buffalo Bill (character)
Jame Gumb (known by the nickname "Buffalo Bill") is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Thomas Harris's 1988 novel '' The Silence of the Lambs'' and its 1991 film adaptation, in which he is played by Ted Levine. In the film and the novel, he is a serial killer who murders overweight women and skins them so he can make a "woman suit" for himself. In the television series '' Clarice'', he is portrayed by Simon Northwood. Overview Background Gumb was born in California in 1948 or 1949. The discography of Gainesville, Florida-based punk rock band Against Me! consists of seven studio albums, four EPs, two live albums, two DVDs, fifteen singles, five demos, and sixteen music videos. ''Transgender Dysphoria Blues'' is the sixth studio album by the American punk rock band Against Me!. The album was released on January 21, 2014, by Total Treble Music and Xtra Mile Recordings. The album deals with gender dysphoria, following Laura Jane Grace's gender transition and coming out. Recording and production The band first announced work on a new album in November 2011 The first sessions for the album were a false start, where the band started recording some basic tracks and then went on tour, and decided to scrap and start over when they got back from tour. Then, the record was completely recorded except for vocals when drummer Jay Weinberg quit the band. The band first tried to have fill-in drummer Atom Willard record drum tracks to match the previously recorded tracks, but it wasn't working.
