''True Tales of Lust and Love'' is a popular monthly storytelling show where local LA comedians and writers sample their material or read from their upcoming books. It's similar in format to The Moth but features only women, some of whom read rather than perform. According to ''LA Weekly'', the show is curated by Anna David and features an "all-gal lineup" that has included comedians Claire Titelman and Melinda Hill. Memoirist Sascha Rothchild has also performed in the show. The ''Los Angeles Times'' included the show in its round-up of Valentine's Day ideas in 2012. Each show is uploaded as a podcast. The Moth
The Moth is a non-profit group based in New York City dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. Founded in 1997, the organization presents a wide range of theme-based storytelling events across the United States and abroad, often featuring prominent literary and cultural personalities alongside everyday people like veterans, astronauts, school teachers, and parents. The Moth offers a weekly podcast and in 2009 launched a national public radio show, ''The Moth Radio Hour'', which won a 2010 Peabody Award. ''LA Weekly'' is a free weekly alternative newspaper in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1978 by Jay Levin, who served as president and editor until 1991. Voice Media Group sold the paper in late 2017 to Semanal Media LLC, whose parent company is listed as Street Media. The current Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director is Darrick Rainey. It covers Los Angeles music, arts, film, theater, culture, concerts, and events. Comedians
A comedian or comic is a person who seeks to entertain an audience by making them laugh. Claire Titelman
Claire Titelman is an American actress and stand-up comedian best known for her regular appearances as a roundtable panelist on ''Chelsea Lately'', as well as her roles on ''Parks and Recreation'', ''New Girl'' and ''Veronica Mars''. Theatrical work Titelman wrote and acted in ''Lemons Are for Emergencies Only,'' which was performed in her own kitchen in Los Angeles in 2006 before appearing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2007. Sascha Rothchild (born November 15, 1976) is an American writer. Life Rothchild grew up in Miami Beach, Florida and is one of three siblings. Her father, John Rothchild, is a well-known non-fiction writer and her mother, Susan Rothchild, is the daughter of 21 Club founder Charlie Berns. She attended Boston College and graduated with honors in 1998. She then moved to Los Angeles and began her writing career. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two rescued boxer dogs.
