Major General#United States, Major General Trudy H. Clark, United States Air Force, USAF (retired) is a former Deputy Director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Fort Belvoir, Virginia in the United States. Military career Clark received her commission in 1973 as a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School. From her commissioning until 1984, she served as chief of communications branches at various Air Force bases in the United States and in Turkey and South Korea. In July 1984, she was assigned as commander of the 1880th Information Systems Squadron at the Tonopah Test Range, Nev. She then completed Air Command and Staff College before taking her assignment as chief of Tactical Command and Control Communication Systems, and later executive officer for the Deputy Director of Programs and Evaluation at U.S. Air Force Headquarters, Washington, D.C., in 1989. Officer Training School (OTS) is a United States Air Force and United States Space Force commissioning program located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Overview Officer Training School is a part of the Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accession and Citizen Development, formerly the Air Force Officer Accession and Training Schools (AFOATS). Named for the late Major General Jeanne M. Troy University is a public university in Troy, Alabama. It was founded in 1887 as Troy State Normal School within the Alabama State University System, and is now the flagship university of the Troy University System. Squadron Officer School
Squadron Officer School (SOS), is a 5.5-week-long Professional Military Education (PME) course for U.S. Air Force and Space Force Captains, Department of the Air Force Civilian (DAFC) equivalents and International Officers. It fulfills the U.S. Air Force's requirement for primary developmental education (PDE). SOS is based at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, and the in-residence version of the course is taught there. SOS is an element of the Air University. SOS 2.0 Online was launched in 2017, and takes approximately 6 months to complete based on the required courses. Unlike the more senior courses at Air University (e.g., Air Command and Staff College and Air War College), "in residence" attendance at SOS does not include any U.S. officers from sister services, although those officers are eligible to take SOS via correspondence or distance learning formats.
