Trondheim Fjord
The Trondheim Fjord or Trondheimsfjorden (), an inlet of the Norwegian Sea, is Norway's third-longest fjord at long. It is located in the west-central part of the country in Trøndelag county, and it stretches from the municipality of Ørland in the west to the municipality of Steinkjer in the north, passing the city of Trondheim on its way. Its maximum depth is , between Orkland and Indre Fosen. The largest islands in the fjord are Ytterøya and Tautra; the small island of Munkholmen is located near the harbor of Trondheim; and there are several islands at the entrance of the fjord. The narrow ''Skarnsundet'' is crossed by the Skarnsund Bridge. The part of the fjord to the north of the strait is referred to as the ''Beitstadfjorden''. Fosen
Fosen is a traditional district in Trøndelag, consisting of the municipalities Osen, Roan Åfjord, Ørland, Indre Fosen, Orkland, Heim, Hitra and Frøya. The district is dominated by forested valleys, lakes, coastal cliffs but also shallow areas, and in the interior mountains reaching up to 675 m elevation. The western coast has many skerries and some islands, such as Stokkøya in Åfjord. There are some good salmon rivers, and sea eagles and other sea birds are very common along the coast, notably on the shallow area near Ørland (''Grandefjæra''). The west coast has mild winters, and some locations (just west of the mountains) receive on average more than 2,000 mm of precipitation per year. Tautra
Tautra is an island in the municipality of Frosta in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Trondheimsfjord, just north of the city of Trondheim. The island is connected to the rest of Frosta by a long causeway bridge. The island is located almost in the middle of the Trondheimsfjord, in the heartland of what once was the central area of the Vikings. The remains of the medieval Tuterø Abbey, a Cistercian monastery, that was established here in 1207 and dissolved during the Protestant Reformation. The monastery was placed strategically, very close to the Frostating assembly site—the central law-making institution in this region of Norway. In that context, the Cistercian monks of Tautra monastery became a part of the nation-building in Norway. Fiborgtangen
Fiborgtangen is a peninsula and industrial site located along Trondheimsfjord in the northwest part of the village of Skogn in the municipality of Levanger in Trøndelag county, Norway. The site hosts the paper mill Norske Skog Skogn and the associated port used to ship newsprint away from the plant. Fiborgtangen is also the site chosen by Industrikraft Midt-Norge to build a thermal power plant powered by natural gas. Petroleum

Verdal is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Innherad region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Verdalsøra. Aker Verdal AS formerly known as Aker Kværner Verdal is a construction yard for large steel constructions and substructures for offshore oil platforms. The yard is owned by Kvaerner and is located in Verdal in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. The yard was opened in 1970 and was owned by the Aker Group until the offshore section was demerged to Aker Maritime. Verrasundet is a fjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The long fjord branches off of the northern part of the vast Trondheimsfjorden in the municipalities of Indre Fosen, Steinkjer, and Inderøy. Beitstadfjorden
Beitstadfjorden () is the innermost arm of the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Steinkjer, Inderøy, and a small part extends into Indre Fosen. The fjord has a length of from southwest to northeast, and a width of about . The fjord begins at the Skarnsund strait in the south and extends northeast to the city of Steinkjer. On the far western part of the fjord, the Verrasundet strait extends south to the village of Verrabotn in Indre Fosen, while in the north the Beitstad strait stretches northward past the villages of Malm, Beitstad, and Vellamelen. Strait
A strait is an oceanic landform connecting two seas or two other large areas of water. The surface water generally flows at the same elevation on both sides and through the strait in either direction. Most commonly, it is a narrow ocean channel that lies between two land masses. Some straits are not navigable, for example because they are either too narrow or too shallow, or because of an unnavigable reef or archipelago.
