Trolleholm Castle
Trolleholm Castle ( sv, Trolleholms slott) is a castle in Svalöv Municipality, Scania, in southern Sweden. The estate comprises 110 houses and a total of 12300 acres (5000 Hectare). Originally named Kattisnabbe and later Eriksholm, it has been known since 1424, and was a monastic estate in the late Middle Ages. It belonged to members of the Thott family (1533-1680) and Trolle family (1680-1806). Frederik Trolle (1693-1770) gave it its present name in 1755. During 1806 was the estate by inheritance to the family, who still owns it. The holder of the estate carry the family name Trolle-Bonde. In popular culture Trolleholm Castle was chosen by Arrow Games to feature in their Scandinavian Series of jigsaws in the 1960-80s. It's definitely the same castle in their jigsaw as shown in all photos of Trolleholm, yet somehow they managed to rename it 'Trolleheim Castle' and place it in Norway. Svalöv Municipality
Svalöv Municipality (''Svalövs kommun'') is a municipality in Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town Svalöv. The local government reform of 1952 grouped the 15 original entities into six larger municipalities. In two steps, 1969 and 1971 they were amalgamated to form the present municipality. The most common housing category is one-family houses. There are local ''pågatåg'' trains connecting Teckomatorp, in the south of the municipality, with Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg. To get to the town of Svalöv, one can take a bus (approximately 15 minutes) from Teckomatorp. The villages Röstånga, Kågeröd, Teckomatorp, Svalöv itself and parts of Söderåsen National Park are located in the municipality. The villages are all connected via local buses. The House of Trolle (sometimes in Danish ''Trold'') is the name of a Scanian noble family, originally from Småland, in Sweden. The family has produced prominent people in the histories of Denmark and in Sweden since the Middle Ages and is associated with several estates in both countries.
