Troedyrhiw F.C.
Troedyrhiw F.C. were an association football team based in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, where they played in the South Wales Amateur League First Division. They entered the FA Cup on six occasions in the late 1940s and early 1950s, losing at the first qualifying round stage each time. They played in the Welsh Football League finishing 14th in the 2009–10 Welsh Football League Division Three season. They then dropped to the South Wales Amateur League before folding in 2012. Troed-y-rhiw (, translation: foot of the slope) is a large community (Wales), community village in the county borough of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. Its population at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 census was 5,296. It features the Troed-y-rhiw railway station. Governance The community shares a border with the electoral ward of Plymouth, Merthyr Tydfil, Plymouth, which elects three county councillors to Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. At the May 2017 elections the ward re-elected three Welsh Labour Party, Labour Party councillors.
