Trim Station (OC Transpo)
Trim is a transitway station in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, located near Trim Road and Regional Road 174 (former Highway 17). A Natrel factory is located near this station. Trim station once served as the eastern weekday terminus for the OC Transpo Transitway route 95, but is now served every day of the week, with Rapid Route 39 travelling between Blair and Millennium stations. Before October 2019, there was no rapid weekend service at the station, as it was mostly used a stop for servicing commuters who were using the Park and Ride facility that contains about 1,089 parking spaces. There are plans to possibly add a transitway extension into residential neighbourhoods along Innes Road and Trim Road, while it remains mostly rural to the east towards Cumberland Village and Rockland. Ottawa Transitway
The Transitway is a bus rapid transit (BRT) network operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It comprises a series of bus-only roadways and reserved lanes on city streets and highways. The dedicated busways ensure that buses and emergency vehicles on the Transitway rarely intersect directly with the regular traffic, and make it possible for them to continue at full speed even during rush hour. OC Transpo operates a network of rapid routes which use the Transitway to connect communities with the O-Train light rail system. Additional bus routes also use segments of the Transitway. The Transitway opened in 1983 with five stations. The network expanded greatly to include over fifty stations at its peak. Blair Station
Blair is a station on Ottawa's transitway and O-Train located at Blair Road and Regional Road 174. It is a major transfer point for commuters within urban Gloucester and Orléans. Location This station is adjacent to the Gloucester Centre shopping complex, and nearby the Scotiabank Theatre Ottawa mega-movie theatre, a small bank, and other major retail stores. Shoppers City East located across Blair Road contains also several other major stores such as Canadian Tire. A long pedestrian overpass for the Queensway provides access to office complexes, a small park and ride parking lot, and the Pineview residential area. Confederation Line
The Confederation Line (french: Ligne de la Confédération), also called O-Train Line 1 (french: Ligne 1 de l'O-Train), is a light rail line operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, as part of the city's O-Train light rail system. It opened on September 14, 2019, and is O-Train's second line. It operates on an east–west route, with a segment under Queen Street in the downtown core, complementing the north–south Trillium Line that operates to the west of the downtown core. Petrie Island
Petrie Island is an island of parkland and recreational areas situated in the Ottawa River in the eastern part of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The island has several nearby islands and the general collection of islands is also called Petrie Island. The islands were formed from clay and sand that was deposited following the end of the last ice age. The area incorporates provincially significant wetlands and wooded areas that provide habitat for plants, animals and birds, especially during spring and fall migration. Extensive flooding occurs during the spring. The size of the islands was reduced when water levels were raised by the hydroelectric dam at Carillon. Cumberland, Ottawa
Cumberland is an unincorporated village on the Ottawa River in Cumberland Ward, in the city of Ottawa. It was part of the historic Township of Cumberland, and was originally part of Russell County, joining the Region of Ottawa-Carleton in the 1960s. In 1999, the township became the short lived City of Cumberland which amalgamated into the City of Ottawa in 2001. While the community of Cumberland was located in the City of Cumberland, it only made up a small percentage of the population of the city. Trim Road ( Ottawa Road #57) is an arterial road in the eastern end of Orléans, Ontario, a suburb of Ottawa. It serves as the only road access to Petrie Island and its public beach in the Ottawa River. From Petrie Island, Trim runs south through the eastern suburban areas of Orleans and then south into rural former Cumberland Township. It travels through the communitiy of Navan before ending at Perreault Road. It has a total length of and connects with Ottawa Regional Road 174 that connects with Highway 417 further to the west. Millennium Station (Ottawa)
Millennium station is a current rapid-transit stop and a future OC Transpo Transitway Station located in the Orleans area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, just south of the intersection of Innes Road and Trim Road. Officially opening in September 2007, it is the easternmost station in Ottawa's bus rapid transit system and it serves as the eastern terminus of routes 25, 30 and 39. It is also located just southwest of École secondaire Gisèle-Lalonde. The station first appeared in OC Transpo's route network as part of their September 2, 2007 service change.
