Tribe
The term tribe is used in many different contexts to refer to a category of human social group. The predominant worldwide usage of the term in English is in the discipline of anthropology. This definition is contested, in part due to conflicting theoretical understandings of social and kinship structures, and also reflecting the problematic application of this concept to extremely diverse human societies. The concept is often contrasted by anthropologists with other social and kinship groups, being hierarchically larger than a lineage or clan, but smaller than a chiefdom, nation or state. These terms are equally disputed. In some cases tribes have legal recognition and some degree of political autonomy from national or federal government, but this legalistic usage of the term may conflict with anthropological definitions. In the United States, Native American tribes are legally considered to have "domestic dependent nation" status within the territorial United States, w ...

Tribe (Queensrÿche Album)
''Tribe'' is the eighth studio album from the American progressive metal band Queensrÿche, released on 22 July 2003. It was self-produced by Queensrÿche, with Scott Olson engineering and Adam Kasper mixing the album. With an impending deadline to deliver their next album, and the band's strained internal relationships leaving them short on material, a call was placed to former lead guitarist Chris DeGarmo to see if he would be interested in contributing songs to the project. After a meeting with Geoff Tate, he agreed and took part in the writing sessions, contributing the music to the songs "Falling Behind", "Doin' Fine" and "Art of Life", and co-writing the music to "Desert Dance" and "Open", and recording guitar parts. Despite participating in a photoshoot session with the band and plans to perform on the European leg of the ''Tribe'' tour, DeGarmo pulled out of the sessions before recording on the album was completed. It is generally assumed that this was the result of simil ...

Given the lovely sonic evidence on ''Tribe'', his position is difficult to argue with. This is a band that is exciting, fresh, and inventive. How they grow will be fascinating to observe".Jurek, T

Their early gigs listed venues such as Danny Rampling's fledgling 'Milk Bar' and 'Eat The Worm' at the Hannover Grand, where they were supported by the then unknown Ocean Colour Scene. They were the only London based band to play 'Factory Day' at ' Cities in the Park' with The Happy Mondays, Electronic and A Certain Ratio.
