Tri-Rail
Tri-Rail is a commuter rail line linking Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach in Florida, United States. The ''Tri'' prefix in the name refers to the three counties served by the railroad: Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. Tri-Rail is managed by the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) along CSX Transportation's former Miami Subdivision, the line is now wholly owned by the Florida DOT. The system has 18 stations along the Southeast Florida coast, and connects directly to Amtrak at numerous stations, and to Metrorail at the Tri-Rail and Metrorail Transfer station and at Miami Intermodal Center. Miami Intermodal Center
Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) is an intermodal rapid transit, commuter rail, intercity rail, local bus, and intercity bus transportation hub in Miami-Dade County, Florida, just outside the Miami city limits near the Grapeland Heights neighborhood. The facility was constructed by the Florida Department of Transportation and is owned by the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority. The MIC is located on Northwest 21st Street near North Douglas Road (West 37th Avenue), east of Le Jeune Road (West 42nd Avenue) and Miami International Airport (MIA), and south of the Miami River and the Airport Expressway (SR 112). It is currently served by Tri-Rail, Metrorail, the MIA Mover, Metrobus, Greyhound Lines, and may possibly be served by Amtrak in the future. Tri-Rail And Metrorail Transfer Station
Tri-Rail and Metrorail Transfer station is a Metrorail and Tri-Rail interchange station in Hialeah, Florida, northwest of the city of Miami proper. This station is located near the intersection of East 25th Street and East 11th Avenue in Hialeah, Florida, officially opening for service on March 6, 1989. The station was built as a connection for the Tri-Rail and Metrorail rail systems; though the Amtrak station, which is served by the Silver Meteor and Silver Star, is located only a few blocks away, it is not officially connected to this station. The Amtrak station was scheduled to be moved to the Miami Intermodal Center by late 2018, but was delayed by several years due to a platform length issue. A third Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer station will begin service by 2023 at MiamiCentral, which provides direct access into Downtown Miami along with additional transfer options such as Brightline and Metromover. MiamiCentral is a mixed-use railroad station development in the Government Center district of Downtown Miami, Florida, currently serving inter-city rail service Brightline. It includes connections to such transit as Metrorail, Metromover, and Metrobus. There are also plans for the station to serve Tri-Rail commuter rail trains in 2023. The 9-acre complex also includes of residential, office, commercial, and retail development. Silver Meteor
The ''Silver Meteor'' is a passenger train operated by Amtrak between New York City and Miami, Florida. Introduced in 1939 as the first diesel-powered streamliner between New York and Florida, it was the flagship train of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and one of its flagship trains of its successor, the Seaboard Coast Line. It was handed to Amtrak when it took over intercity rail service in 1971. The train is part of Amtrak's ''Silver Service'' brand, along with its sister train, the '' Silver Star'', SAL’s other former flagship streamliner. The two trains are the remnants of the numerous long-distance trains that operated between Florida and New York for most of the 20th century. Deerfield Beach Station
Deerfield Beach station, also known as the Old Deerfield Beach Seaboard Air Line Railway Station, is a train station in Deerfield Beach, Florida. It is served by Amtrak intercity rail and Tri-Rail commuter rail trains. Located at 1300 West Hillsboro Boulevard (SR 810), just east of North Military Trail (SR 809), the station was built in 1926 by the Seaboard Air Line Railway. It shares the same Mediterranean Revival design as the Delray Beach Seaboard station and the Homestead Seaboard station. Those design features include arched entryways, arcades, stucco walls and a barrel-tiled roof. The station was placed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on April 5, 1990.
