Tregole National Park
Tregole is a national park in South West Queensland, Australia, 603 km west of Brisbane. Until the gazetting of the park in 1975, the area was a grazing property. The park is located where the brigalow and mulga biospheres meet and has a representative sample of semi-arid ecosystems. The park contains almost pure stands of the vulnerable Ooline tree. The Ooline stand in Tregole is unusual as the climate is hot and dry. The park has no camping facilities. A day-use area is 10 kilometres south of Morven on the Morven-Bollon Road. The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is a business division of the Department of Environment and Science within the Government of Queensland. The division’s primary concern is with the management and maintenance of protected areas within Queensland, to protect and manage Queensland’s parks, forests and the Great Barrier Reef for current and future generations. South West Queensland
South West Queensland is a remote region in the Australian state of Queensland which covers . The region lies to the south of Central West Queensland and west of the Darling Downs and includes the Maranoa district and parts of the Channel Country. Brigalow
''Acacia harpophylla'', commonly known as brigalow, brigalow spearwood or orkor, is an endemic tree of Australia. The Aboriginal Australian group the Gamilaraay peoples know the tree as Barranbaa or Burrii. It is found in central and coastal Queensland to northern New South Wales. It can reach up to tall and forms extensive open-forest communities on clay soils. Description The tree is root-suckering and has hard, furrowed and almost black coloured bark. Acacia Aneura
''Acacia aneura'', commonly known as mulga or true mulga, is a shrub or small tree native to arid outback areas of Australia. It is the dominant tree in the habitat to which it gives its name ( mulga) that occurs across much of inland Australia. Specific regions have been designated the Western Australian mulga shrublands in Western Australia and Mulga Lands in Queensland. ''Cadellia'' is a monotypic genus of trees in the botanical family Surianaceae. The sole species, ''Cadellia pentastylis'', commonly known as ooline, is a medium to large tree with bright green leaves and rough tile-pattern bark. It has rain forest origins dating from the Pleistocene Era when much of Australia was wetter than it is today.
