Traxxas
Traxxas is a radio control model manufacturer based in McKinney, Texas. Traxxas offers electric and nitro powered radio-controlled cars, off-road and on-road vehicles, boats, and drones. Company history Starting in 1986, Traxxas began selling a series of electric powered stadium truck and buggy models. In 1989, Traxxas released its first radio-controlled boat, the Villan IV. In 1992, its first RTR nitro model, the Nitro Hawk, was released, followed by an RTR nitro boat, the Nitro Vee, four years later. In 1999, Traxxas released its first full sized monster truck model, the T-Maxx. A larger monster truck; the X-Maxx, came out in 2015. Traxxas also debuted a self-righting system in which flipped vehicles can adjust itself back in place. Traxxas TORC Series
TORC: The Off-Road Championship (TORC) was an American short course off-road racing series. It tours throughout the United States featuring professional four and two-wheel-drive Trophy Trucks along with a Pro Light class. TORC was founded by off-road racing driver Ricky Johnson in 2009. It was known as the Traxxas TORC Series, owing to title sponsor Traxxas, from 2009 to 2013. It was purchased by The Armory in August 2013. It was sanctioned and officiated by the United States Auto Club (USAC) since its inception. A multi-year deal between TORC and NBC Sports was announced in 2014 where it was confirmed that NBC would carry not only the series' on-track events but its docu-reality series as well. However, the series returned to Fox Sports in 2015. Coverage of events for 2016 and 2017 was broadcast by BeIN Sports. Sheldon M. Creed (born September 30, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing. He is a member of Drivers Edge Development, a driver development program for Chevrolet-affiliated racers. Born in Alpine, California, Creed grew up competing in short course off-road racing, winning championships in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) and Stadium Super Trucks (SST). Matthew Chase Brabham (born 25 February 1994) is an Australian-American racing driver. He competes full-time in Indy Lights, driving the No. 83 for Andretti Autosport. A stadium truck is a small, off-road radio-controlled car, either rear wheel drive (example: Traxxas Rustler) or four wheel drive (example: Arrma Vorteks 4x4). Stadium trucks are distinct from other types of off-road R/C vehicles, such as buggies and short course trucks, by their combination of truck-style bodies and open-wheeled layout. The construction of most manufacturers' stadium trucks, are similar to those of buggies. Most feature wheels and tires that are both larger in diameter and wider for increased ground clearance and improved handling and stability. Courtney Force-Rahal (born June 20, 1988) is a former drag racer who competed on the NHRA tour. She drove the Advance Auto Parts Chevy Camaro SS Funny Car for John Force Racing. 2013 Stadium Super Trucks Series
The 2013 Stadium Super Trucks Series was the inaugural season of Stadium Super Trucks competition. The series marked the revival of off-road racing in stadiums, originally created by Mickey Thompson, and reintroduced by former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon. The trucks were one of four classes available, along with Bigfoot Monster Trucks, Super Trophy Karts, and Super Buggys. The champion was awarded the Mickey Thompson Championship Trophy. John Harold Force (born May 4, 1949 in Bell Gardens, California) is an American NHRA drag racer. He is a 16-time NHRA and 1 time AHRA Funny Car champion driver and a 22-time champion car owner. Championship Off-Road Racing
Championship Off-Road Racing (usually abbreviated CORR) was a sanctioning body for short course off-road racing in the United States. It formed in 1998 and went bankrupt in 2008. Its Midwest races were supplanted in 2007 by the Traxxas TORC Series and by the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series on the West Coast in 2009. Both received most of the drivers and adopted the same racing format. History CORR was formed in 1998 by ESPN announcer Marty Reid. It displaced the SODA series at the premiere short course off-road racing series when most of the drivers in SODA moved to CORR. The series was purchased by Jim Baldwin in 2005. Baldwin canceled two of the rounds at Las Vegas in October 2008.
