Travis Paulson
Travis Paulson (born May 11, 1985) is an American freestyle wrestler who formerly competed at 74 kg for the United States of America. Biography Paulson wrestled for Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa during his high school career. He was a three-time Iowa high school state champion (1999, 2001, 2002). After high school, Paulson attended Iowa State University and was a three-time All-American, including a career-best fifth-place finish at 165 pounds at the 2007 NCAA Wrestling National Championship. Internationally, Paulson finished first at the United States World Team Trials in 2010, and finished with an 0-1 record at the 2010 World Wrestling Championships. Freestyle Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles the ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win. Unlike Greco-Roman, freestyle and collegiate wrestling allow the use of the wrestler's or the opponent's legs in offense and defense. Iowa State Cyclones Wrestling
The Iowa State Cyclones wrestling team represents Iowa State University (ISU) and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. The Cyclones are 8 time National Champions, 17 time National Runners-Up, and have 45 Top 4 "Trophy" Finishes. The team is coached by Kevin Dresser. The Cyclones host their home meets at Hilton Coliseum on Iowa State's campus. Iowa State became the second collegiate wrestling program to reach 1,100 dual wins on January 23, 2022. Council Bluffs is a city in and the county seat of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, United States. Jake Herbert (born March 6, 1985) is an American amateur wrestler. Herbert won the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials at 84 kg FS and competed in the 2012 Olympics. High school Born in Pittsburgh, Herbert was a Pennsylvania state champion and four-time state placer at North Allegheny High School in Wexford, Pennsylvania. College Herbert was a two-time NCAA champion, three-time Big Ten Conference champion, and four-time NCAA All-American. He went 149-4 while at Northwestern University. He won the 2009 Dan Hodge Trophy awarded to the best college wrestler in the nation and the 2009 Big Ten Athlete of the Year award.
