Travelers' Club
''Travelers' Club'' (russian: Клуб путешественников) was a Soviet and Russian television program dedicated to the popularization of tourism and travel. Was in a televised broadcast from 18 March 1960 and at first was called ''Narrators Club'' . From 1991 to 2003 the program was on the Channel One Russia. During this time there were more than 2000 issues. The transfer was entered in the ''Guinness Book of Records'' as the oldest Russian television program. The first presenter of the program was :ru:Шнейдеров, Владимир Адольфович, Vladimir Schneiderov. Then for 30 years (since 1973) program led the doctor and the famous traveler Yuri Senkevich. After the death of the master program was closed in October 2003. Channel One ( rus, Первый канал, r=Pervyy kanal, p=ˈpʲervɨj kɐˈnal, t=First Channel) is a Russian state-controlled television channel. It is the first television channel to broadcast in the Russian Federation. Its headquarters are located at Ostankino Technical Center near the Ostankino Tower in Moscow. Jacques Mayol
Jacques Mayol (1 April 1927 – 22 December 2001) was a French diver and the holder of many world records in free diving. The 1988 film ''The Big Blue'', directed by Luc Besson, was inspired by his life story and that of his friend, Enzo Maiorca. Mayol was one of the screenwriters and authored the book ''Homo Delphinus: the Dolphin Within Man'' of his philosophy about the aquatic origins of humans. Early life Jacques Mayol was a French national born in Shanghai, China. Mayol spent his summer holidays in Karatsu (Japan) every year as a child. Jacek Pałkiewicz (born 2 June 1942) is a Polish journalist, traveler and explorer. Fellow (by recommendation from Thor Heyerdahl) of the prestigious London-based Royal Geographical Society and numerous other such societies, he is best known for his discovery of the sources of the Amazon River. Throughout his life, Pałkiewicz collaborated with many of the most respected newspapers, including '' Corriere della Sera'', ''Rzeczpospolita'', ''Gazzetta dello Sport'', ''Newsweek'' and '' National Geographic''. He also authored more than 30 books documenting his expeditions and became an internationally recognized expert on survival skills in extreme conditions. Carlo Mauri
Carlo Mauri (25 March 1930 – 31 May 1982) was an Italian mountaineer and explorer. Mauri was born in Lecco. Among his early climbs in the Alps two stand out: the first winter ascent of the ''via Comici'' route on the northern face of Cima Grande di Lavaredo; and the first solitary ascent of the ''Poire'' of Mont Blanc. Numerous expeditions abroad followed. In 1956 he reached the summit of Monte Sarmiento in Tierra del Fuego and in 1958, as a member of Riccardo Cassin’s expedition in Karakorum, he and Walter Bonatti made the first ascent of Gasherbrum IV (7,925 m). In 1969, and again in 1970, he was a member of Thor Heyerdahl's expedition which crossed the Atlantic Ocean in ''Ra I'' and ''Ra II'', vessels made of papyrus.
