Grass by the Home (russian: Трава у дома, Trava u doma) is a 1983 song by former Soviet and Russian music group Zemlyane. The lyrics were written by Anatoly Poperechny and music by Vladimir Migulya. The song tells about cosmonauts in space, longing for Earth, along with their homes and the grass. In 2009, the Russian Federal Space Agency named "Grass by the Home" the official anthem of Russian cosmonauts. The song was the finalist of the 1983 edition of Song of the Year. In 1984, it was used in the 14th episode of Well, Just You Wait! ''Well, Just You Wait!'' (russian: Ну, погоди!, Nu, pogodi!, p=ˈnu pəɡɐˈdʲi) is a Soviet, later Russian, series of animated short films produced by Soyuzmultfilm. Zemlyane
Zemlyane (russian: link=no, Земляне, lit=Earthlings) is a Soviet and later Russian rock band, formed in Leningrad in 1978. The band achieved great popularity in the early 1980s and remains active. A key artist in the VIA (vocal-instrumental ensemble) wave of Soviet music, Zemlyane was one of the first officially state-recognized bands in the USSR to feature elements of rock music. Zemlyane mixed hard rock music with synthpop. Most of their lyrics deal with risk, courage, and masculinity. They sang about cosmonauts, stunts, pilots, and sailors. In 2009, Zemlyane's 1980s hit " Trava u doma" () became the first official anthem of the Russian space program. Russian cosmonauts have traditionally taken this song with them when getting assigned for orbital deployments. Vladimir Georgievich Migulya
Vladimir Georgievich Migulya ( rus, Владимир Георгиевич Мигуля; August 18, 1945 – February 16, 1996) was a Soviet and Russian musician, singer and composer. He authored many popular songs in the 1970s and the 1990s. He collaborated with the group Zemlyane. In 1988 he was named Migulya wrote the music of the first Hymn of Cosmonautics of Russia Grass by the Home. He was a 14-times laureate of the festival Pesnya Goda. Biography Vladimir Migulya was born on August 18, 1945, in Stalingrad (today's Volgograd). His father Georgy Fyodorovich Migulya was a military pilot, while his mother Lyudmila Aleksandrovna was a medical statistician and lieutenant of medical service during the World War II. He graduated from a music school in Volgograd. From 1965 to 1968, Migulya studied at the Volgograd School of Arts at the Department of Music Theory.
