Rome has an extensive internal transport system and is one of the most important road, rail and air hubs in Italy. Rome banned diesel vehicles from its roads for the first time on Tuesday 14 January 2020. The local transport authority said the order would affect around one million vehicles. The Rome trolleybus system ( it, Rete filoviaria di Roma) forms part of the public transport network of the city and ''comune'' of Rome, Italy. In operation since 2005, the current system comprises three routes (60, 74 and 90). Ponte Mammolo (Rome Metro)
Ponte Mammolo is an above ground station on line B of the Rome Metro in the Ponte Mammolo district of Rome. It is on the road which links Viale Palmiro Togliatti to Via Tiburtina, and nearby is the river Aniene. The line itself opened in 1990 and so and for a long time line B services did not stop at the incomplete station, until the station finally opened in September 1997. At the same time a major terminus for urban and suburban buses (most of which had previously run to and from Rebibbia station) opened here. COTRAL regional blue buses stop at the bus terminal just outside the main entrance of the station, connecting Rome to some important archeological sites such as Hadrian's Villa, Villa d'Este and the town of Tivoli. Ponza
Ponza (Italian: ''isola di Ponza'' ) is the largest island of the Italian Pontine Islands archipelago, located south of Cape Circeo in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is also the name of the commune of the island, a part of the province of Latina in the Lazio region. History The island was inhabited from neolithic through Roman times. According to local legends, Ponza was named after Pontius Pilate, Roman governor of Judea who tried Jesus of Nazareth for sedition against Roman rule. Pontius Pilate's family owned a grotto on Ponza, which is still named after him. The Pontius Pilate legend of Ponza's name has recently come into dispute amongst historians, because the name "Pontia" appears in Strabo's ''Geography''. This pre-dates the birth of Pilate. It is not known if this is the same name as Ponza or a similar name. Anagnina (Rome Metro)
Anagnina is a station of Line A of the Rome Metro. It is located at the junction between Via Tuscolana and Via Anagnina, close to the depot of Osteria del Curato. The station rises at above sea level. History The Anagnina station was built as the south-eastern terminus of the first section of metro Line A, which came into service on 16 February 1980.See Formigari and Muscolino, p. 133. Description Anagnina is an underground terminal station with two tracks served by two platforms not directly connected to each other.
