Traian Ionescu
Traian Ionescu (17 July 1923 – 4 October 2006) was a Romanian football goalkeeper and coach. Club career Traian Ionescu was born on 17 July 1923 in Văleni, Argeș County, Romania and started to play junior level football at age 13 at TC Târgoviște where he stayed until 1939. Afterwards he went to play for Sporting Club Pitești, Vulturii Textila Lugoj and Sportul Muncitoresc Găvana before arriving at Juventus București where he made his Divizia A debut on 6 April 1947, being used by coach Emerich Vogl in a 4–1 victory against Libertatea Oradea. In 1949 he was transferred by CCA București where he won the 1951 Divizia A, being used by coach Gheorghe Popescu I in 5 games, he also helped the team win three Cupa României but played in only one final in 1949 when coach Francisc Ronnay used him in the 2–1 victory against CSU Cluj. Silvio Piola
Silvio Piola (; 29 September 1913 – 4 October 1996) was an Italian footballer who played as a striker. He is known as a highly prominent figure in the history of Italian football due to several records he set, and he is regarded as one of the greatest strikers of his generation, as well as one of the best Italian players of all time. Piola was part of the squad that won the 1933–35 Central European International Cup & the squad that won the 1938 FIFA World Cup with Italy, scoring two goals in the final, ending the tournament as the second best player and the second highest scorer. Piola is third in the all-time goalscoring records of the Italian national team. Gheorghe Popescu (8 August 1919 – 1 January 2001) was a Romanian footballer and also a manager. He played as a striker. International career Gheorghe Popescu I played 6 friendly games at international level for Romania, making his debut under Constantin Rădulescu in a 2–1 home victory against Belgium. He scored his only goal in a 2–1 away victory against Yugoslavia. Popescu's last appearance was in a 2–2 against Slovakia. Emerich (Imre) Vogl (born 12 August 1905 in Temesvár, Austria-Hungary (now Romania) – died 29 October 1971 in Bucharest, Romania) was a Romanian football player and coach of Banat Swabian ethnicity who was a member of Romanian team which participated at the 1930 FIFA World Cup in Uruguay and 1934 FIFA World Cup in Italy. Career Club career Emerich Vogl played as a youth for Chinezul Timișoara between 1921 and 1922. In 1922, at 17, Vogl made his debut for the senior team. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table.
