Trafford Centre Tram Stop
The Trafford Centre is a tram stop built for Greater Manchester's Manchester Metrolink, Metrolink light rail system, built to serve passengers boarding and alighting at the Trafford Centre on the Trafford Park Line. Previously known as ''intu Trafford Centre'', the tram terminus received the name ''The Trafford Centre'' after intu ceased ownership of the shopping centre, the tram stop's namesake. The stop is located adjacent to Barton Dock Road between Ellesmere Circle and Bright Circle. Manchester Metrolink
Manchester Metrolink (branded locally simply as Metrolink) is a tram/ light rail system in Greater Manchester, England. The network has 99 stops along of standard-gauge route, making it the most extensive light rail system in the United Kingdom. Metrolink is owned by the public body Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and operated and maintained under contract by a Keolis/ Amey consortium. In 2021/22, 26 million passenger journeys were made on the system. The network consists of eight lines which radiate from Manchester city centre to termini at Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury, East Didsbury, Eccles, Manchester Airport, Rochdale and Trafford Centre. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is the public body responsible for co-ordinating transport services throughout Greater Manchester in North West England. Barton upon Irwell (also known as Barton-on-Irwell or Barton) is a suburb of the City of Salford, Greater Manchester, England, with a population of 12,462 in 2014. History Barton Old Hall, a brick-built house degraded to a farmhouse, was the seat of the Barton, Booth and Leigh families. The church of St Catherine, built in stone with an octagonal spire rising to , was consecrated in 1843. A57 Road
The A57 is a major road in England. It runs east from Liverpool to Lincoln via Warrington, Cadishead, Irlam, Patricroft, Eccles, Salford and Manchester, then through the Pennines over the Snake Pass (between the high moorlands of Bleaklow and Kinder Scout), around the Ladybower Reservoir, through Sheffield and past Worksop. Eccles Interchange
Eccles Interchange is a transport hub in Eccles, Greater Manchester, England. It is composed of a bus station, and a single-platform Metrolink light rail station, the latter of which is the terminus of the system's Eccles Line. It opened on 21 July 2000. It is roughly away from Eccles railway station. In United Kingdom planning law, a unitary development plan (UDP) is a development plan prepared by a metropolitan district, London Borough or some unitary local authorities. Background UDPs contains policies equivalent to those in both a structure plan and a local plan. UDPs were introduced by the Local Government Act 1985 and were produced up to around 2004, when the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 replaced them with Local Plans. Pomona Tram Stop
Pomona is a tram stop located just east of the junction of the Eccles Line and Trafford Park Line of Greater Manchester's light rail system, known as Metrolink. It opened to passengers on 6 December 1999, as part of Phase 2 of the network's expansion, at Pomona Docks in Old Trafford. It was the least-used stop on the Metrolink network in 2018. However, it was always designed to support development as an interchange station between the Eccles Line and the Trafford Park Line which opened in March 2020.
