'' Traces of Sandalwood '' ( ca, Rastres de sàndal, links=no) is a 2014 Spanish drama film produced by Pontas Films, directed by María Ripoll and shot in Barcelona and Mumbai with Nandita Das as Mina and Aina Clotet as Sita/Paula. The film is from Pontas Films and is the adaptation of international bestseller ''Traces of Sandalwood'', the tale of a Bollywood star's search for her long lost sister. The film was released in Spain on 28 November 2014. Reewa Rathod makes her international debut with this film which has her composing one of the songs in the film, ''Tandaana''. María Ripoll i Julià (born 1963) is a Spanish film director from Barcelona, with an international background and eight feature films to her credit. The success of her film ''It's Now or Never (film), It's Now or Never'' has placed her as the highest-grossing female film director in Spanish history. Anna Soler-Pont (born 1968), is a Spanish writer. She was born in Barcelona, where she still lives. After her studies of Arab Philology, she spent some time in Cairo, and an overland trip from Barcelona to New Delhi marked her professional career. In 1992 she founded Pontas Literary & Film Agency, representing a wide range of authors and maintaining its focus on multicultural projects.
