Tour De Flores
Tour de Flores (abbreviated TdF) is a multi-day cycling race on the Indonesian island of Flores. It is part of UCI Asia Tour in category 2.2. Aside from Larantuka, Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park, the cyclists race along natural and cultural wonders of Flores Island such as the tricolor lake on Mt. Kelimutu, the megalithic village of Bena, and the exiled house of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno in Ende. Tour de Flores had become an annual international cycling event since 2016. Flores
Flores is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands, a group of islands in the eastern half of Indonesia. Including the Komodo Islands off its west coast (but excluding the Solor Archipelago to the east of Flores), the land area is 15,530.58 km2, and the population was 1,878,875 in the 2020 Census (including various offshore islands); the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 1,897,550. The largest towns are Maumere and Ende. The name ''Flores'' is the Portuguese and Spanish word for "Flowers". Ende, East Nusa Tenggara
Ende is the seat capital of the Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. Ende is located on the southern coast of Flores Island. The town had a population of 87,269 residents at the 2020 census, divided administratively between four districts of the regency – Ende Seletan, Ende Timur, Ende Tengah and Ende Utara. History Ende was the site of a kingdom that existed around the end of 18th century. The people of the area therefore known as Lio-Ende people. For many decades Ende has been a center of government, trade, education, and political activities. Rebellion against the Dutch was led by a certain Nipa Do known as the wars of Watu Api and Mari Longa (1916-1917). Nagekeo Regency
Nagekeo Regency is a regency on the island of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. It covers an area of 1,416.96 km2 and had a population of 130,120 at the 2010 Census, and 159,732 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 162,463. Established on 2 January 2007 by separation of the eastern districts from Ngada Regency, the regency has its administrative seat (capital) in the town of Mbay on the north coast of Flores. West Manggarai Regency ( id, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat) is one of the eight Regency (Indonesia), regencies which comprise the List of islands of Indonesia, island of Flores, located in the provinces of Indonesia, province of East Nusa Tenggara (''Nusa Tenggara Timur'') in Indonesia. The Regency was created on 25 February 2003 by separation off the western districts of Manggarai Regency. East Flores Regency ( id, Kabupaten Flores Timur) is a regency in East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. Established in 1958, the regency has its seat (capital) in Larantuka on Flores Island. It covers a land area of 1,812.85 km2, and it had a population of 232,605 as of the 2010 censusBiro Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2011. and 276,896 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 283,626. Sukarno). (; born Koesno Sosrodihardjo, ; 6 June 1901 – 21 June 1970) was an Indonesian statesman, orator, revolutionary, and nationalist who was the first president of Indonesia, serving from 1945 to 1967. Komodo National Park
Komodo National Park (Indonesian: ''Taman Nasional Komodo'') is a national park in Indonesia located within the Lesser Sunda Islands in the border region between the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. The park includes the three larger islands Komodo, Padar and Rinca, and 26 smaller ones, with a total area of 1,733 km2 (603 km2 of it land). The national park was founded in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragon, the world's largest lizard. Later it was dedicated to protecting other species, including marine species.
