Touched By Love
''Touched by Love'' (also called ''To Elvis, with Love'') is a 1980 American drama film directed by Gus Trikonis and starring Diane Lane and Deborah Raffin. The screenplay concerns a therapist who tries a novel approach with a girl afflicted with cerebral palsy; she has her charge become a pen pal with the girl's favorite singer, Elvis Presley. The film was based on the real-life reminiscences of Lena Canada. Raffin was nominated for both a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress — Motion Picture Drama and a Razzie for Worst Actress for her performance. The film received a second Razzie nomination for Hesper Anderson's screenplay. Gus Trikonis
Gus Trikonis (born Kostas Tritchonis; November 21, 1937) is an American actor, dancer, and director. Career Trikonis began his career as an actor and dancer, notably appearing in the hugely successful 1961 film ''West Side Story'' as Indio, one of the "Sharks", as well as dancing with Debbie Reynolds and Grover Dale to the frantic "He's My Friend" in 1964's '' The Unsinkable Molly Brown''. Although originally unbilled, on December 3, 1968, Trikonis got his second biggest exposure in front of any audience (the first being in the aforementioned ''West Side Story'', seen at US theatres by about 61 million moviegoers) as one of two main (out of five) male dancers who do Elvis Presley's choreography as he sings a Gospel medley as part of a widely watched NBC-TV Special entitled "Elvis". Cristina Raines
Cristina Raines ( née Herazo; born February 28, 1952) is an American former actress and model who appeared in numerous films throughout the 1970s, mainly horror films and period pieces. She went on to have a prolific career as a television actress throughout the 1980s. Born in Manila, Philippines to American parents, Raines was primarily raised in Florida. After graduating high school, she relocated to New York City to pursue a career as a model, and signed with the Ford Modeling Agency. Urged by Eileen Ford to audition for acting roles, Raines was subsequently cast as a lead in the independent horror film '' Hex'' (1973), opposite Keith Carradine and Scott Glenn.
