Toto In Hell
''Toto in Hell'' ( it, Totò all'inferno) is a 1955 Italian fantasy-comedy film directed by Camillo Mastrocinque. Italian cult horror film director Lucio Fulci co-wrote the screenplay. Plot Antonio Marchi, a depressed thief, after several attempts of suicide, accidentally drowns in a river and ends up in hell. Here he is recognized as a reincarnation of Mark Antony and instead of ending the group of Violents is thrown by Belfegor to Cleopatra's arms, in the Lussuriosi group. But the meeting between the two is frowned upon by Satan, who is jealous of the woman, so, Totò, to escape his anger, escapes back to Earth. Camillo Mastrocinque (11 May 1901 – 23 April 1969) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Dante Maggio (2 March 1909 – 3 March 1992) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in 115 films between 1940 and 1975. Born in Naples into a family of actors, Maggio had a turbulent adolescence that led his father to send him in an institute for problematic minors. Ignazio Balsamo (25 October 1912 – 7 August 1994) was an Italian film and stage actor. Life and career Born in Catania, Balsamo began his career on stage, being part of several Sicilian language theatrical companies. Discovered by Pietro Germi, who offered him a role of weight in the film '' In the Name of the Law'', following the success of the film Balsamo moved to Rome where he had a long film career as a character actor, mainly cast in roles of Sicilian criminals and villains. Guglielmo Inglese
Guglielmo Inglese (24 November 1892 – 14 January 1972) was an Italian actor, radio personality and playwright. Life and career Born in Naples into a family of Apulian origins, Inglese debuted on stage as a child actor at 2 years old, and then he was part of some of the most important stage companies of the time, including the one led by Raffaele Viviani in 1920. He abandoned the theater to devote himself to radio, with which he got a large popularity thanks to his comic monologues caricaturing typical Southern stock characters, notably the "peasant from Apulia". He made his cinema debut when he already was mature aged, in 1948, and was mostly cast in character roles in which he reprised his radio repertoire. Charon (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Charon or Kharon (; grc, Χάρων) is a psychopomp, the ferryman of Hades, the Greek underworld. He carries the souls of those who have been given funeral rites across the rivers Acheron and Styx, which separate the worlds of the living and the dead. Archaeology confirms that, in some burials, low-value coins were placed in, on, or near the mouth of the deceased, or next to the cremation urn containing their ashes. Giulio Calì (26 March 1895 – 20 January 1967) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 60 films between 1927 and 1966. Life and career Born in Rome, Calì started his career on stage, being mainly active in Roman dialect theater and in avanspettacolo. He made his film debut in 1927, in Umberto Paradisi's ''Un balilla del '48'', but his career ultimately started after the Second World War, when he was cast in a good number of films of different genres and quality, even if usually playing very minor roles. Galeazzo Benti (6 August 1923 – 21 April 1993) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1942 and 1991. Life and career Born Galeazzo Bentivoglio in Florence, Italy, a descendant of the Bentivoglio family, which ruled Bologna from 1401 until 1506 and from 1511 until 1512, he started his career as a cartoonist and a set designer. After his first roles in 1942, he had his breakout in 1943, in Sergio Tofano's ''Gian Burrasca'', in which he played a frivolous and falsely modest snob, a role he specialized during his career. After successfully alternating between cinema and revue, in the late 1950s he moved to Venezuela, where he worked in a television channel dedicated to Italian immigrants. He came back to Italy in the early 1980s, and here he reprised his acting career equally splitting between films and TV-series until his death from a heart attack in 1993.
