Torstad Chapel
Torstad Chapel ( no, Torstad kapell) is a chapel of the Church of Norway in Nærøysund municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Torstad. It is an annex chapel for the Nærøy parish which is part of the Namdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The wooden church was built in a Churches in Norway#Floor plan, rectangular style in 1936 using plans drawn up by the architect Arne Sørvig. The church seats about 120 people. History The first chapel in Torstad was built in 1936 and it was used as a chapel and also as a school. In 1976, the building was converted into just a chapel. Nærøysund is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Namdalen. The municipality was established on 1 January 2020 after the merger of the old municipalities of Vikna and Nærøy. The municipality is unique in that it has two equal administrative centre: Kolvereid and Rørvik. The other main population centres of Nærøysund include Abelvær, Foldereid, Gravvik, Ottersøy, Salsbruket, Steine, Torstad, Austafjord, Garstad, and Valøya. The village is located at the southwestern end of the Kvingra peninsula, just across the Nærøysundet from the village of Rørvik. Namdalen
Namdalen ( sma, Nååmesjevuemie) is a traditional district in the central part of Norway, consisting of the municipalities Namsos, Grong, Overhalla, Røyrvik, Nærøysund, Høylandet, Flatanger, Lierne, Leka, and Namsskogan, all in Trøndelag county.
