Toriel
Toriel is a fictional character and is the first area boss in the role-playing video game ''Undertale''. A motherly figure created as an embodiment of excessive video game tutorials, she is a member of the monster race with hanging ears, small horns, white fur, and a purple robe. Literally "hand-holding" the player through the opening sections of the game, the player must attempt to escape the area, upon which point they fight her. The player can choose to kill her or convince her to stop fighting, having implications on the game at large. The character has received attention from critics and fans for her personality as well as the atypical moral choice of her boss battle. A version of the character also appears in ''Deltarune''. Flowey
Flowey is a fictional character and the main antagonist of ''Undertale'', a role-playing video game created by Toby Fox. He appears for most of the game as a side character with a sadistic and psychopathic personality. It is later revealed that he is Asriel Dreemurr, a young monster prince who was killed by humans. Critics and fans have praised Flowey's characterization, well-constructed backstory, and boss fights involving the character. History and appearances The player first encounters Flowey, who appears as an unassuming flower with a face in the middle, at the very start of the game. He attacks the player under the pretense of being a helpful monster who will award the player with "friendliness pellets", which are actually harmful bullets. Deltarune
''Deltarune'' is a role-playing video game developed by Toby Fox. The player controls a teenage human, Kris, who is destined to save the world together with Susie, a monster, and Ralsei, a prince from the Dark World. During their quest to seal the "Dark Fountains" prophesied to end the world, the group meets the inhabitants of the "Dark World", some of whom try to stop them. The combat system is based on Shoot 'em up#Bullet hell, bullet hell attacks the player must dodge. Similar to ''Undertale'', enemy encounters can be resolved peacefully or through violence. Development of ''Deltarune'' began in 2012, three years before Fox's previous game ''Undertale'' was released. ''Kill Screen'' (stylized as ''KILL SCREEN'') was a print and online magazine founded in 2009 by Jamin Warren and Chris Dahlen and owned by Kill Screen Media, Inc. It focused on video games and culture, but also included articles based on entertainment. The name is based on the video game term of the same name. In 2009, both Warren and Dahlen were former writers for ''Pitchfork'' when they decided to found the magazine.
