Tore Gullstrand
''Tore'' Ragnar Gullstrand, born 16 August 1921 in Karlstad, died 2002 in Linköping, was a Swedish business leader in the aviation industry and researcher in aeronautics. He was the son of Ragnar Gullstrand. Gullstrand was chief engineer (the manager) by Saab AB, Linköping Sweden by the development and vast expansion of the Swedish Air Force (the Defence Act of 1958) and for the construction of Saab 35 Draken and Saab 37 Viggen in the shadow of the cold war and the nuclear arms race. Gullstrand became a civil engineer at the Royal Institute of Technology in 1945, licentiate in technology in 1950 and doctoral dissertation in 1952 for technology doctoral degree. He acted as acting director of professorship in aeronautical engineering 1947–1949 (when Sten Luthander worked as head of SAAB's research department) and became associate professor in 1953. Karlstad
Karlstad (, ) is the 20th-largest city in Sweden, the seat of Karlstad Municipality, the capital of Värmland County, and the largest city in the province Värmland in Sweden. The city proper had 65,856 inhabitants in 2020 with 95,167 inhabitants in the wider municipality in 2021, and is the 21st biggest municipality in Sweden. Karlstad has a university and a cathedral. Saab 105
The Saab 105 is a Swedish high-wing, twinjet trainer aircraft developed in the early 1960s as a private venture by Saab AB. The Swedish Air Force, which had opted to procure the type for various roles, issued the aircraft with the designation Sk 60. The Sk 60 entered service in 1967, replacing the ageing De Havilland Vampire fleet. The Swedish Air Force bought a total of 150 aircraft and another 40 were exported to Austria, designated Saab 105Ö. The Saab 105 is also the aircraft used by Swedish Air Force display team Team 60 and was formerly used by two display teams of the Austrian Air Force, "Karo As" and "Silver Birds". Flight Engineer
A flight engineer (FE), also sometimes called an air engineer, is the member of an aircraft's flight crew who monitors and operates its complex aircraft systems. In the early era of aviation, the position was sometimes referred to as the "air mechanic". Flight engineers can still be found on some larger fixed-wing airplanes and helicopters. A similar crew position exists on some spacecraft. Saab-Scania
Saab-Scania AB was a Swedish vehicle manufacturer that was formed from the 1969 merger of Saab AB and Scania-Vabis. The company was split in 1995. History Truck and bus manufacturer Scania AB of Södertälje merged with car and aeroplane manufacturer Saab AB of Trollhättan on 1 September 1969, under the Wallenberg family group of companies. The merger meant that Saab no longer had to import the British Triumph Slant-4 engine, and could instead use the engine production facilities of Scania.
