Klaudjo Dhespo (born 6 December 1994), known professionally as Toquel (stylised in all caps), is a Greek rapper. Life and career Toquel was born as Klaudjo Dhespo on 6 December 1994 into an Albanians, Albanian family in the city of Tepelenë, Albania. His family moved from his native country to Heraklion, Greece, when he was 11 months old. During an interview in Greece, Dhespo stated that he experienced Anti-Albanian sentiment#Greece, discrimination because of his Albanians in Greece, Albanian origin. Artistry and influences Dhespo's stage name, Toquel, was inspired by a therapist from Chania, Greece, who helped him to manage his panic attacks. Tepelenë ( sq-definite, Tepelena) is a city and a municipality in Gjirokastër County, in the south of Albania. The town is located on the left bank of the Vjosa River, about three kilometres downstream from its union with the Drino. Until the abolition of Districts of Albania, Districts in 2000, Tepelenë was the seat of the Tepelenë District.
