Top Gear Home Video Releases
Since 2002, DVDs and Blu-ray Discs of the British TV series ''Top Gear'' have been released, containing full episodes, compilations, or specially filmed material. Many episodes are not presented as the original broadcast, and are included as either abridged 50 minute versions or "Director's Cuts" with unbroadcast deleted scenes reinstated. Changes to the soundtrack are also common when the original music is not licensed for home video. Outside of the US and UK DVD releases, a heavily-edited version of series 9 was released in Germany in 2012, and Series 6 onwards have been released for digital purchase in near-uncut versions with the exception of a few episodes. Series 2-3, 6, 10-22 & 25-27 were released in Japan on DVD for a very brief period of time by Assist-Corp in 2019, but due to poor reliability in DVD players, the BBC would revoke their licence to produce DVDs featuring their intellectual property.https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?k=%E3%82%B8%E3%82%A7%E3%83%AC%E3%83%9F%E3%83%BC ...

Top Gear (2002 TV Series)
''Top Gear'' is a British motoring magazine and factual television programme, designed as a relaunched version of the Top Gear (1977 TV series), original 1977 show of the same name by Jeremy Clarkson and Andy Wilman for the BBC, and premiered on 20 October 2002. The programme focuses on the examination and reviewing of motor vehicles, primarily cars, though this was expanded upon after the broadcast of its earlier series to incorporate films featuring motoring-based challenges, special races, timed laps of notable cars, and celebrity timed laps on a course specially-designed for the relaunched programme. The programme drew acclaim for its visual and presentation style since its launch, which focused on being generally entertaining to viewers, as well as Top Gear controversies, criticism over the controversial nature of its content. The show was also praised for its occasionally-controversial humor and lore existing in not just the automotive community but in the form of internet ...

Top Gear (series 23)
Series 23 of ''Top Gear'', a British motoring magazine and factual television programme, was broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Two during 2016, consisting of six episodes between 29 May and 3 July; an additional four episodes were planned but not produced. Following the dismissal of Jeremy Clarkson, and the subsequent departures of Richard Hammond and James May in the previous series, the BBC hired Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc as the new hosts, with Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris, Rory Reid and Eddie Jordan as their co-presenters, but appearing only when required for an episode. The twenty-third series saw the discontinuation of segments used by the previous presenters, modifying the celebrity segment to involve a timed lap on a newly designed rallycross circuit with a Mini Rallycross Car - the Vauxhall Astra Tech Line was sent back following the previous series - and a redesign of the programme's studio at Dunsfold. In addition, the programme received a spin-off show tit ...

Top Gear (series 1)
Series 1 of ''Top Gear'', a British motoring magazine and factual television programme, was broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Two during 2002, consisting of ten episodes that were aired between 20 October and 29 December. This series was the first to feature Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond as the main hosts of the programme, a role they would both maintain until the twenty-second series, and the only series to feature Jason Dawe as their co-presenter before he was replaced in the second series (by James May). The series introduced much of the new elements that the programme had brought in as part of its relaunch of original 1977 programme of the same name, including the anonymous driver known as "The Stig" (portrayed by Perry McCarthy), and the celebrity timed laps that would begin with the Suzuki Liana. Production Following the cancellation of the original format of ''Top Gear'' in December 2001, previous format presenters Jeremy Clarkson and Andy Wilman convinced t ...

Omnibus (broadcast)
An omnibus (or omnibus edition) is a compilation of several television or radio episodes into a single instalment. An omnibus is similar to, but distinct from, what is called a marathon in other countries; In an omnibus, individual episodes are edited together (with the first episode having its closing credits removed, the final episode having the opening credits removed, and each episode in between lacking any credits whatsoever) into a single programme, whereas in a marathon the episodes are aired separately but in sequence. The term has been most frequently used in the United Kingdom, though it has also been used in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. ''Brookside'' was the first television soap to have what was called an omnibus edition, in 1991; it continued until the series ended in 2003. ''EastEnders'' introduced the equivalent of an omnibus edition starting in the 1980s, but the term "omnibus" was not used until the 1990s. United Kingdom In the United Kingdom, many so ...
