Top Cow Productions is an American comics publisher, an imprint of Image Comics founded by Marc Silvestri in 1992. History During the early years of Image Comics, which was founded in 1992, co-founder Marc Silvestri shared a studio with Jim Lee, where he created his first creator-owned comic book, '' Cyberforce'', as part of Image's initial line-up. After setting up his own studio, Top Cow Productions, he expanded into other comics, launching '' Codename: Strykeforce'', a new ''Cyberforce'' series and various spin-offs. The company attracted several professionals including artist Brandon Peterson, writer Garth Ennis and former Marvel staffer David Wohl. It also helped launch the careers of various writers and artists, such as Christina Z., Joe Benitez, Michael Turner and David Finch. David Wohl
David Wohl is an American comic book writer and editor. He is best known as an editor at Marvel Comics and Top Cow Productions and, at the latter, writing '' The Darkness'' and ''Witchblade''. Career David Wohl began his creative career as a high school intern at Marvel Comics. He later became an assistant editor on titles ranging from ''Spider-Man'' to ''X-Men'', and later still was promoted to managing editor. In 1993, Wohl left Marvel to become editor-in-chief and executive vice president of Top Cow Productions, eventually becoming president in 1999. While at Top Cow, he co-created and wrote such comic book franchises as '' The Darkness'', ''Witchblade'', and '' Aphrodite IX''. Fathom (comics)
''Fathom'' is a comic book created by Michael Turner and originally published by Top Cow Productions. It debuted in 1998 and was Michael Turner's first creator-owned comic book series. ''Fathom'' is currently published by Turner's own company, Aspen MLT. Publication history ''Fathom'' was created by Michael Turner, who said that he found the inspiration from an issue of ''National Geographic''. The first series began in 1998 and was abruptly halted in 2002 when it was discovered that Turner had been diagnosed with cancer. During the period of inactivity on the main series, comic book artist Talent Caldwell drew a miniseries titled ''Fathom: Killian's Tide''. After Turner's cancer went into remission, he left Top Cow and launched his own company, Aspen MLT Inc. Aphrodite IX
''Aphrodite IX'' is a science fiction comic book character created in 1996 by writer David Wohl and artist David Finch, published by the American comics studio Top Cow, an imprint of Image Comics. Aphrodite IX is a self-aware female android designed as a spy and assassin who retains no memory of her missions. The Darkness (Jackie Estacado) is a fictional superhero created by Marc Silvestri, Garth Ennis and David Wohl, who first appeared in an American comic series published by Top Cow Productions in 1996. Witchblade
''Witchblade'' is a comic book series published by Top Cow Productions, an imprint of Image Comics, which ran from November 1995 to October 2015. The series was created by Top Cow founder and owner Marc Silvestri, editor David Wohl, writers Brian Haberlin and Christina Z, and artist Michael Turner. Rob Liefeld
Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable (comics), Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''New Mutants, The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force''.
