Toobanna is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Hinchinbrook, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Toobanna had a population of 278 people. Geography The town is roughly in the centre of the locality. The eastern boundary of the locality is Trebonne Creek, which then flows through the locality, just to the south of the town, and then forms the north-western boundary, ultimately being a tributary of the Herbert River which flows into the Coral Sea. The southern boundary is Cattle Creek, which ultimately flows into the Coral Sea. The locality is generally flat and low-lying ( above sea level). It is freehold land which is used for farming with sugarcane being a major crop. The Bruce Highway and the North Coast railway line traverse the locality from south to north, passing just near the town, the railway being immediately parallel and east of the highway. Herbert River
The Herbert River is a river located in Far North Queensland, Australia. The southernmost of Queensland's wet tropics river systems, it was named in 1864 by George Elphinstone Dalrymple explorer, after Robert George Wyndham Herbert, the first Premier of Queensland. North Coast Railway Line, Queensland
The North Coast railway line is a 1067 mm railway line in Queensland, Australia. It commences at Roma Street station, Brisbane, and largely parallels the Queensland coast to Cairns in Far North Queensland. The line is electrified between Brisbane and Rockhampton. Bruce Highway
The Bruce Highway is a major highway in Queensland, Australia. Commencing in the state capital, Brisbane, it passes through areas close to the eastern coast on its way to Cairns in Far North Queensland. Hinchinbrook is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It is currently represented by Nick Dametto, of Katter's Australian Party. Geography Originally primarily a rural electorate, the district in its present form is a narrow coastal strip running from just south of Tully to the northern fringes of Townsville. Prior to the 2017 redistribution Hinchinbrook had spanned just south of Innisfail and included the towns of Mission Beach and Tully.
