Tony McKegney
Anthony Syiid McKegney (born February 15, 1958) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League from 1978–79 until 1990–91. He is the first black player in NHL history to score 40 goals in a season. Career McKegney was drafted 32nd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. On June 8, 1983, after five seasons with the Sabres, he was traded along with centers Andre Savard and J.F. Sauve to the Quebec Nordiques in exchange for winger Real Cloutier and Quebec's first-round draft pick in the 1983 draft. McKegney was born in Montreal, but was adopted soon thereafter, and raised by a white family in Sarnia, Ontario. As a teenager he played Jr. 'B' hockey in Sarnia. Jean-François Sauvé
Jean-François Sauvé (born January 23, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played in the National Hockey League with the Buffalo Sabres and Quebec Nordiques. Biography Sauve was born in Sainte-Geneviève, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1972 and 1973 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey teams from Pierrefonds, Quebec, and from the North shore of Montreal. In his NHL career, Sauvé appeared in 290 games. He scored sixty-five goals and added 138 assists. Sauvé is the brother of former NHL goaltender Bob Sauvé and the uncle of former NHL goaltender Philippe Sauvé. Sauvé's son Maxime (born 1990) was selected 47th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and played one NHL game with the team. San Diego Gulls (1990–1995)
The San Diego Gulls were a professional ice hockey team. The team, the second to use the ''Gulls'' nickname, was founded in 1990 as part of the International Hockey League. The Gulls played at the San Diego Sports Arena. The team played five seasons, then relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1995 to become the Los Angeles Ice Dogs. After one season in L.A., the team moved to Long Beach to become the Long Beach Ice Dogs and later would leave the IHL and join the WCHL (West Coast Hockey League). The Hockey Club Varese is an ice hockey team from Varese, Italy. It was created on 1977 under the name A.S. Mastini Varese Hockey. In 2005 (June) the club folded, but it continued to play in the Under 19 series under the name Hockey Club Varese, a new team founded in August 2005. Jarome Arthur-Leigh Adekunle Tig Junior Elvis Iginla (; born July 1, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger. He played over 1500 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings. Birmingham Bulls (WHA)
The Birmingham Bulls were a professional ice hockey team based in Birmingham, Alabama. They played in the World Hockey Association from 1976 to 1979 and the Central Hockey League from 1979 to 1981. The World Hockey Association (french: Association mondiale de hockey) was a professional ice hockey major league that operated in North America from 1972 to 1979. It was the first major league to compete with the National Hockey League (NHL) since the collapse of the Western Hockey League in 1926. Although the WHA was not the first league since that time to attempt to challenge the NHL's supremacy, it was by far the most successful in the modern era.
