Toni Impekoven
Toni Impekoven (21 June 1881 – 6 May 1947) was a German actor and writer. Impekoven was a popular playwright, who co-authored the hit comedy '' The Scoundrel'' with Hans Reimann. Niddy Impekoven
Luise "Niddy" Impekoven (2 November 1904 – 20 November 2002) was a German dancer of the Golden Twenties. Career Impekoven took up dancing at a young age and first performed publicly in 1910. She was considered a child prodigy and received intense dance training from and others. She danced almost exclusively to classical music. Her performances were expressionistic and sometimes humorous. Her well-known choreographies included ''Der gefangene Vogel'', ', and ''Schalk''. Impekoven became famous outside Germany during the 1920s, performing in Vienna and Prague. By the 1930s she had toured in the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Java and Ceylon. She appeared in three 1920s films, most notably ''Ways to Strength and Beauty''. She retired from professional dancing in 1934, in part due to the Nazi seizure of power, and went on to live in Switzerland, where she published her memoirs in 1955. ''The Court Concert'' (german: Das kleine Hofkonzert) is a 1948 German musical comedy film written and directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Elfie Mayerhofer, Hans Nielsen and Erich Ponto. In the United States it was released as ''Palace Scandal''. It is based on the 1935 musical comedy '' The Court Concert'' (music: Edmund Nick) which Verhoeven had co-written. A previous film version was made in 1936 and directed by Douglas Sirk. The remake was shot using agfacolor. Both productions are in the tradition of operetta films. It was produced by the major studio Tobis Film during 1944, but was not given a formal release until 1948 in Sweden and then East and West Germany the following year. The art director Otto Erdmann worked on the film's sets. Location shooting took place in Bavaria. Frieda Impekoven
Frieda Impekoven (née Kobler; ; 1880 – after 1966) was a Swiss or German woman who protected Jews during the Holocaust. Life Frieda Kobler was born in Zürich in 1880. Her father was an industrialist. She later married the German playwright Toni Impekoven, their daughter Niddy Impekoven was born in 1904 and would go on to be a successful dancer. All three were opposed to the Nazi government and its racial policies. Impekoven was contacted in 1943 by Ms Wölffler, who had been evicted from her home and lived in a house designated only for Jews. She brought food to the elderly Jewish woman. Impekoven was questioned about her relations with Wölffler, but was left alone after a Gestapo officer recognised that her daughter was a famous dancer. Wölffler however was later deported to Theresienstadt. Another time she offered her apartment to another Jewish woman, Margarete Knewitz.
