Tomás Hamill
Tomás Hamill (born 1 May 1994) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Moyne–Templetuohy and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2013. Career Hamill played Minor Hurling for Tipperary in 2011 and 2012, winning Munster and All Ireland titles in 2012. He made his league debut for Tipperay in March 2013 against Kilkeny in the 2013 National Hurling League. Hamill made his championship debut on 14 August 2016 against Galway in the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final victory, when he came on as a late substitute. On 4 September 2016, Hamill came on as a second half substitute and won his first All-Ireland Senior hurling title when Tipperary defeated Kilkenny in the final by 2-29 to 2-20. On 5 March 2017, Hamill started at full-back against Clare in the 2017 National Hurling League and went on to claim the man of the match award for his display in a 0-28 to 0-21 win at Semple Stadium. Ó HÁdhmaill
Ó hÁdhmaill is a Gaelic Irish clan from Ulster. The name is now rendered in many forms, most commonly Hamill. The clan are a branch of Cenél nEógain (specifically, Cenél mBinnigh), belonging to the Uí Néill; they claim descent from Eochu Binneach, the son of Eógan mac Néill. Their descendants in Ireland are found predominantly across Ulster, and County Louth, Leinster. In Irish if the second part of the surname begins with a vowel 'Á', the form ''Ó'' attaches a ''h'' to it, this is the h-prothesis mutation. In this case Ádhmaill becomes Ó hÁdhmaill. 2016 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final
The 2016 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final was the 129th event of its kind and the culmination of the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. It was played at Croke Park in Dublin on 4 September 2016. This was the 18th All-Ireland season that ended with a Kilkenny–Tipperary final. Of the previous 17, Tipperary won 10 and Kilkenny 7. It was also the fifth final between Tipperary and Kilkenny since 2009, with Kilkenny leading the series 3–1. Kilkenny were chasing three in a row with Tipperary looking for a first All-Ireland since 2010. The 2017 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 130th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 23 April 2017 and ended on 3 September 2017. The draw for the championship was held on 13 October 2016 and was broadcast live on RTÉ2. Tipperary, the 2016 champions, were defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. Meath fielded a team in the championship for the first time since 2004. Westmeath GAA
The Westmeath County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae na hIarmhí) or Westmeath GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Westmeath. Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2017
The 2017 season was Michael Ryan's second year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team. On 28 November 2016, Pádraic Maher was named as the new captain of the Tipperary Senior hurling team for 2017 with Séamus Callanan named as vice-captain. Intersport/Elverys continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA for a third year. Tipperary wore a New Jersey design for the first time on 23 April in the League final against Galway. The new design has Intersport with Elverys underneath with Elverys.ie on the back shoulders. The Tipperary players and management team traveled to Miami in December 2016 for a team holiday where they rang in the new year. Semple Stadium
The Semple Stadium is the home of hurling and Gaelic football for Tipperary GAA and for the province of Munster. Located in Thurles, County Tipperary, it is the second largest GAA stadium in Ireland (after Croke Park), with a capacity of 45,690.
